Another white cake with cream filling. Had some left over daisies from another cake, so this one was really easy to make.

Maria's bumblebee birthday cake. Lemon cake with 3 layers of lemon curd filling and 3 layers of lemon mousse filling. The cake is covered in a thin layer of vanilla buttercream and then yellow marshmallow fondant. The bees and daisies are fondant as well. This design is from one of Debbie Brown's books and was really fun to replicate!

Okay, this was my very first try with fondant. And it was the yucky store bought kind. Still a cute cake though. The cake and the flip flops are covered in Buttercram and the straps and the bee are fondant.

Pooh Baby shower cake is covered in MMF with royal icing "grass" to help support the layers. The beehive is made of Rice Krispie treats, covered in chocolate clay, with the lines painted on with food color. The bees and honey pot are also chocolate clay; the honey is runny royal icing! Pooh & Eeyore are the only inedible parts of the cake (other than the bees springs!)!!! The grandma-to-be CRIED when she picked up this cake! :)

This is my second time making these Bug Cookies and now that I am better with the royal icing I really like how they look! They are "No Fail Sugar Cookie" with Antonia74's royal icing.

Just playing around. I've wanted to try some of the chocolate decorations from The Whimsical Bake House book ever since I got it. It was a lot of fun and I learned some things for next time too! Caramel vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing

I made this cake for a silent auction at a fundraising ball for a children's museum. They asked local bakers to contribute a cake. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate almond swiss meringue buttercream filling. I then covered the cake in chocolate fondant. The insects and flowers are gumpaste. The bumble bees are my favorite! I accented with buttercream grass and royal icing dots.

I was just playing with these cutters, that is why the eyes are missing. Of course the next time I made them I forgot to take a picture.

Buttercream with fondant and gumpast accents. Cross is Styrofoam inside and covered in fondant with luster brushed on, it would have been too heavy if all in fondant. Praying bear is fondant. Little bees and train are also fondant.

Idea from CC member Deds; first time trying BC with a foam roller, and I LOVE it... very convenient! Bees, hive, and daisies all Satin Ice fondant. I know it has some glaring imperfections, but practice ought someday to make perfect... (or maybe not!!)

All bugs were made from gumpaste & fondant. Rattle was made from styrofoam balls dipped in thinned royal icing. Handle was made from a dowel rod covered in fondant. Bottle was white chocolate. (don't like working with that stuff). This was a fun cake to make.

This cake was my 1st paid cake! For a 3 year old little girl who LOVES bugs! Fondant figures, buttercream icing, RI flowers, chocolate cake with homemade chocolate ganache. There is supposed to be a snake in the shape of a 3 on the front where the toothpicks are but I forgot to take a pic with him on there!

This was my first attempt at a cupcake bouquet. It was quite an adventure. My icing got mushy on me so it was difficult to do the roses. I had problems sticking the cupcakes in AND it tipped over in my car on the way to my grandmas!! Oh, well, I had a 3 hour trip home. What did I really expect? It was also my first try and doing fondant bees and my first time molding from fondant. Those were really fun!

Inspired by the bedding picked out by the parents, "Flutter Bees". I tried to keep it simple...HA! I hate this fondant I'm working with....way too soft, it was durn near impossible to work with. Next time I'm buying it instead of making it. Chocolate with chocolate ganache filling.

Did this with my 10 year old niece. She had been begging me to let her help decorate a cake. We made this one just for fun. Used glass pitcher to bake the "hive" in. Iced with a #12 tip. Bees are fondant- she was really good at those! We had lots of fun making this together.

NFSC. Wings are glaze, body royal. My son handed these out as school for Valentines Day this past February. Used a lady bug cookie cutter as I couldn't find a bee cutter. Sorry about the quality of the picture and the glare from the bag.

This is a red velvet cake with buttercream and fondant icing. I airbrushed the color on. I made the bees and flowers out of gumpaste, and the bee wings are wafer paper. It is for a baby shower. The theme of the shower was the birds and the bees! I am so happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for looking ~Donna
