These bumble bees are also made using the mini snowman pan. I melted white candy melts to make wings and used chocolate chips for the eyes.

I was totally inspired by Kaye Hansen and Liv Hansen, authors of The Whimsical Bake House. I haven't perfected the technique but sure had fun teaching myself on this one.

This was for my parents anniversary. They are in the honey business so I thought they would appreciate the hommage to their profession. I had fun making it and they really liked it.

This was a cake for a first birthday. Chocolate with buttercream icing. This was alot simpler than I would normally do,but I was planning my son's birthday the same weekend, and his cake and party took priority.

I made this beehive cake for my niece's Winnie the Pooh party. It's buttercream with fondant bumblebees. You can't really tell from this angle, but I carved a little hole in the front, and then covered it with black fondant.

I remember my Grandma had several beehive honey pots when I was young. She is in her 80s now and has alzheimers, I hope this might bring back some nice memories for her, if even temporarily! Thanks again to Debbie Brown, but especially Sweet_as_tisse whose bunny I shamelessly copied, it was perfect to give the cake a bit of an Easter touch.

This was made just for fun. I used the mini wondermold pan. I like to learn and practice. #1. I learned that my bees need to be lighter so they don't tear/pull on the fondant. #2. I see that I need to cover the edge of the cake board also. I used the recipe for Easy MMF from this site to cover the cake board and beehive.

I have been wanting to try this since last summer. The frog and bees are made out of Easy MMF with Gumtex added. The monkey is made from Wilton Fondant and was much easier to work with.

I frosted this sheet cake in buttercream. The roses were also made from buttercream. I made small bees out of fondant. To make the letters to spell out the two names that the cake was for I used heart shaped candy molds and then piped the letters on the hearts. Ugh! At the last minute, while moving the cake, it cracked a bit. I knew I couldn't start over so I used some green icing and piped some vines over the cracks.
