First doll cake and I had soo much fun! Wanted to use a real barbie, but ran out of time to go and get one. 10" square. Insipiration from cake4you for the cornille lace and ruffle effect, charman for the necklace and from steph for my fondant work, Thanks guys! Buttercream with fondant swag accents/bow and bodice. I would have done the whole think in fondant, but I didn't think 3 year olds would like it as much. Everyone LOVED it!

This is a doll cake I made for a 4 year old little girl. I posted another picture, but decided it needed a little more decoration, so I added some royal icing flowers.

Bottom layer Choc w/choc frosting and BC accent. Doll is Yellow cake w/BC.
I had to raise the doll and used the stacked construction because her feet were coming out the bottom of the cake board! I like the way it made he look like she was walking across the ground.

My first doll cake! I had a hard time cutting the dowels, then after sharpening them I still couldn't get them through the cake circle under doll, then it's a little lopsided. Thanks for looking.

Okay. Here she is. Thanks for all the help ladies!
This doll cake was made from a Pyrex bowl and an 8" round cake. It is all chocolate cake, BC icing, with fondant for the top of her dress. The flowers are fake (from a craft store). This was for a little girl's 2nd birthday. When the customer picked it up, she was so happy with it. I totally undercharged her, but it's okay. I had never done a doll cake before and I didn't know what to expect. Thanks for looking.

All Buttercream with left over violets from Wilton Course II. Top part of dress is fondant. This was fun. The hardest thing believe it or not was doing her hair. I accidently resized the photo's too small and deleted the originals before checking. Very smart of me, huh? Hope you don't have to squint too hard to see it.

I saw AmyBeth's cake like this in the Mother's Day Contest. I loved it - I just HAD to try it! I squared the tub edge so I could put candles and a glass of wine on there. I stole the wine glass from my girls' Barbies (they'll never miss it!). This cake was SO much fun to make! Thanks to AmyBeth for sharing her idea!

This is the first doll cake I have ever made. It was actually sort of a joke for a girl graduating from high school. It is chocolate with a white 8" layer underneath, BC filling. It is iced in BC.

My friend and I decided to try and do a doll cake, just for fun. Neither of us had ever done one and we took turns decorating it. Here's the result. Poor Barbie!

My 7 year old made this for her birthday. I did the doll's top and crumb coated the cake. She also used a couple of my leftover royal icing flowers. The rest of the icing and decorations were done by my daughter. She got her inspiration from Mommyof2angels picture. My daughter called them cha cha girls. I have trouble "letting go" when my kids do cakes so I was very proud of my daughter and how it turned out.

Barbie got a makeover!
She was a big hit at the sweet 16 birthday party. Made entirely of ice cream to accompany the regular cake. Frosted with Itaian Meringue Buttercream (from the Martha Stewart website).

I waited too long to take the picture the party was almost over when I remembered. There was 12 matching flower cupcakes along with the doll. Sorry its so dark and that you can see alot of junk in the background, I was woren out from having ten 3 year olds over for a party. The theme my 3 year old picked was Fairy Princess Under the Sea !! OMG
