This cake was made to match the shower invitation. I hope they like it when they see it. Longhorns are made with fondant mixed with a lot of gum tex. I inserted a piece of floral wire through the whole horn to keep it from falling. Then inserted 2 small dowels into them so that they would stick into the cake. I am glad it worked...I was worried. Bandana is fondant, piped with buttercream...TFL!

Horse head , Used fondant to cover and decorate horse. Needed more cake for the party, so I added a paisley print bandana. First time doing a horse, thought it came out prettty good. My family thinks that before the ears were on, it looked like a dinosaur. Might use that for next time :)

I TOTALLY took this idea fromjaklotz1. I was showing my friend some ideas for her sons b-day and she loved jaklotz1 cake so much she said she wanted EXACTLY that cake, but just the bottome tier. Here's my version. It's not quite as good, but they liked it. The buckle was fun to make.

Cake is covered in bc with fondant and ri accents. Horses are fondant
with ri accents too! Thank you Sarsi for your inspiration! Bandana was
tricky and I reversed the black and white print-but overall I loved the final
result and the birthday girl loved it too!

A great tutorial on CC got me started with this cake! My gumpaste brim
didn't really have enough drying time, so the curled edge drooped a bit
more than I would have liked. The button things actually have some
detail that you cant see in the picture. I used a daisy center stamp and
lighed brushed it with gold luster dust. I piped the bandana pattern, but
not as well as I would have liked! But if you squint it looks pretty good LOL!

Wasn't thrilled with how I ran out of space for the name. Next time I'll start in and work my way out to make sure there's enough room. Not bad though for my first attempt at anything western themed.

This one just about killed me! I'm still having nightmares three weeks later! Orginally, it was supposed to be stacked, which I tried! It started leaning and leaning....so I took it apart and ended up doing this. I didn't charge, since it's not what she wanted. I still feel bad. So, how bad is it? Please be honest
