This cake was 2 chocolate bundt cakes on top of each other. Chocolate icing in the center and orange vanilla buttercream on the outside. The stem is part of a banana covered in green vanilla buttercream. I used real leaves as a mold for the chocolate, froze them and peeled away the leaf. It went over really well for our family Thanksgiving dinner. :)

I made this cake for a baby shower. The mother-to-be was having a girl, but the theme was still kind of gender neutral. I added a pink bow to the monkey's head. The cake is done in BC. The vine was done in fondant, but the leaves in BC. The monkey and bananas were made from fondant.

cake with edible character and edible palm tree. coconuts and bananas made from fondant. Cake is Banana with white chocolate peanut butter ganache filling and fudge frosting......yeah, it was really good!...

Many thanks to those here on CC that inspired this monkey themed cake :) I used ideas from the many brilliant monkey cakes here, special thanks to gourmettiger & indgojods to whom I drew my most inspiration from. Cake is chocolate w/ ganache filling and mmf details. TFL

Here is a monkey cake that I made for a friend. Inspiration from a cake found on Cake Central so thank you so much! I add bananas too it because what is a monkey without bananas?? I love the coloring with this one and his facial expressions made it so funny for a 1 year old birthday party :)

Chocolate sponge Cake with chocolate buttercream filling. Covered in chocolate fondant. Leaves, monkey and bananas are made out of fondant.

The monkey cake was feisty to make but in the end he came out great. His head, arms, legs and giant banana are made out of rice krispy treats.

This cake was for a little 1 year old boy who loves bananas and loves to climb. The monkey was chocolate cake and the "banana smash cake" -- look hard on the base--was actually banana cake. This was our first true 3D sculpted cake. TFL

Fresh banana cupcake and maple buttercream frosting with a drizzle of carmel over the top. First time doing fondant topper like this. Flowers are soo much easier. I have a lot to learn.

Four layer yellow 7 inch cake with strawberry filling on top and bottom layer, and banana filling in middle layer. It was YUM! My kitchen was a bit warm, so the bottom petals of the roses wilted, but they still did the job:P

This is a White cake with Fudge and Bananas filling iced in Buttercream, 10", 8", 6 inch. The monkeys on top are made with RKT and Fondant (my daughter helped make the monkeys), the leaves are made of fondant and everything else is piped with buttercream.

This was my first attempt at a belly cake that I did for a very close friend. The cake is a chocolate fudge cake covered in buttercream and dark chocolate fondant. The belly is filled with banana cream pie ice cream. I was worried that the cake would not survive the 1.5 hour drive with no AC, but thanks to the help and input of fellow CC members the cake made the trip. I wasn't to happy with the way it turned out but Mom to be and rest of the guests loved it. Thanks for looking :)

Banana Cake with Banana Cream filling. Monkeys are chocolate gumpaste, Large banana is fondant/gumpaste mix and the mini bananas are gumpaste. All other accents are fondant. Shimmer dust added to the branches and leaves. TFL

This is for my daughters 1st Birthday, we always call her a cheeky monkey hence the monkey! All the decorations are made from fondant and the cake is a chocolate mud cake!

6", 8" & 10" WASC Cake, filled with Banana Dulche Leche filling, frosted with BC and covered in White Fondant. White ribbon and roses added on site. Made for Sister Inlaws parents 30th anniversary.

I used a yellow cake mix for the "vanilla" scoop then used some red food color to make a "strawberry" scoop. I then used a chocolate cake for the "chocolate" scoop. The toppings are butterscotch, white chocolate and chocolate chips. The bananas and cherries are made from fondant. At the last minute, I put whipped cream around the cake.

A Curious George themed cake. Whit cake with a sugar cookie middle, iced with vanilla butter cream and decorated with fondant/gum paste. Everything is hand made. The customer had a George topper that she put on it at the party.

This was made for my friend's son, Bryson, to celebrate his very first birthday! Cake is yellow WASC with chocolate BC filling. My friend and her husband always call Bryson their little monkey, so I thought it was fitting to give him a banana shaped smash cake! Hopefully if you ever do a monkey cake, you'll be in the right frame of mind to give the little guys some nostrils! I can't believe I forgot them!! haha TFL :)

For my daughter's 4th birthday I made these for her to take to preschool. She asked for strawberry cupcakes with banana frosting. I made the butterflies out of candy melts a la "Hello Cupcake."

Just trying out a recipe for banana cake with banana pudding filling and Nilla wafers inside. Covered in amaretto and banana flavored buttercream. Fndant accents were also banana flavored.
