Done on request of my husband for his 41st birthday. Cake is banana with crushed Nilla waffers mixed in, between layers is banana pudding with more Nilla waffers, frosted with an icing made with a pound of cream cheese, box of instant banana pudding mix and some heavy cream all whipped together, then topped with 41 Nilla waffers! Can't wait to dig into this one!!! Thanks for looking!! Have a blessed day.

I was given a picture of a cake and asked to recreate it. I tweaked the design and added the Man With The Yellow Hat and Hundley. George is a store bought cake topper. Bananas are gumpaste w/ fondant peel. Sorry I can't give credit to the original decorator because I don't know who did it but it's a cute idea.

I ended up going to the emergency care 1/4 of the way through this cake. Deep second degree burns. I finished it the next day one handed, so it didn't quite turn out the way I was hoping. It was fun to do anyway.

This was so much fun to do! Base cake was 14" and treehouse was 8" tripple stacked. Shaped the branches out of wire and then fondant covered. Everything else is fondant even the tire swing! My 9 yr. old daughter even got to help me as she rolled each and every one of those bananas. This whole thing was over 3 feet tall when finished.

My final version of dmhart's stupid monkey cake. I tried to get the cake to tilt so it would look like the monkey was smashing the cake during his climb up the side of the cake. It didn't work as well as I wanted but everyone loved the cake!

This is all cake and buttercream, except the 'toppings' which are candy melts and the cherries, which are candy. I saw many of these in the gallery, thanks to everyone for your inspiration! I used the oval pan for the dish and the mini ball pan for the scoops of ice cream. I used other, small oval cake to carve the bananas out of.

Saw this cake on CC & couldn't wait for a chance to try it. Hubby went out of town on business & my daughter and I did this & delivered to all of his employees. If I had it to do over I would have made the icing yellow instead of white. All bananas and monkeys are fondant. TFL

White Cake covered in buttercream with fondant decorations. The "suaces" are chocolate melts. I don't really like the way the "carmel" turned out. Donated this to my sons school to raffle off.

This is for my son's 28th. He loves monkeys. The cake is yellow cake with very ripe bananas thrown in. I even put bananas in the buttercream.
The "bananas" are made from rice crispies and covered with fondant.
I stopped counting bananas when I hit 65 of them!!!!
June 21st: Didn't I get fooled. An ice cream cake gets brought out at the party - after all that work I did to make this monkey - and it says on it that we are going to be grandparents!!!! I guess he was monkeying around (sorry-bad pun).

yes, my 2nd cake. Much better than the first. The filling was taken from the recipe 'silky peanut butter filling', and it was awesome! People who didn't like peanut butter loved the cake. It's chocolate cake filled with the above and covered in italian meringue buttercream. Except, i skipped the butter cos it made the cream liquid.. In the end, only the chocolate meringue stood stiff and i managed to pipe it nicely on the cake. But the white and lighter brown parts failed... But anyway, everyone loved it, especially the birthday boy who turned 5. :) I'll practice more.

White cake with vanilla filling and buttercream icing. Fondant accents. The monkey was taller and thinner, but he started sinking into himself. lol He's starting to look like a teddy bear. Oh well.
