8" square all BC icing. Was fun and easy to do but next time I will work harder to not have so many squiggly lines. The #12 tip gave a smooth finish......if only I have more #12s. :( Will know for next time.

I made this cake for my brother who was recently home on leave from Iraq. We had a great time while he was here, but the time went by too fast.

This is a vanilla cake w/ buttercream. The "sand" is crushed wafer sugar cones & the "rocks" are jelly bean rocks. All the other props are toys. The outside was all camouflage which was my favorite part! This is for my nephew turning 6 who LOVES G.I. Joe & anything like that!

This is the most dumbest cake I have ever done. I like the overall image that I had in my mind. But somehow none of the frosting would not cooperate. I did the cake and every time I turned around the frosting kept sliding off. I even had the a/c in my house full blast.....good thing it was just a practice cake.

More "extreme" petit fours! Got this order for camo after delivering zebra striped petit fours. Apparently no one in town will do petit fours anymore so I may really have something here. I really enjoy making them.

To do the camouflage, first I piped an outline of a color, then I piped frosting and smoothed it with a spatula. Repeated the process with the four colors and smoothed over the outlines with a Viva paper towel.

My BIL got married while in Korea to his girlfriend who was also stationed there as well. They just came home and I made them this cake to celebrate not only the Army welcome home but also their marriage. It has dog tags colored with silver luster dust and their names are on each one. Then I made wedding rings and put them on the dog tags. They loved it and were very sentimental about it.

This little birthday boy picked out the toys for the top of this cake, and, my 15 year old son helped me with the layout. His Grandma ordered the cake, and, she said she knew I couldn't get all those toys on the cake. We did it, though. I used a larger board, and, left room for his vehicles around two edges.

This cake was made for a 9 year old boy, who loves army stuff. Because, they didn't need so much cake, the tank was made of styrofoam and then covered with MMF. The cake was a yellow cake with buttercream icing and fondant rocks.

My nephew wanted to have an Army birthday, so this was my attempt at a camouflage cake. I ended up wishing I'd used fondant, but everyone said they liked buttercream better. And my 4 year old nephew was perfectly happy with it.

This is the cake that my husband and I made for our next door neighbour's 50th birthday. I baked the cake and my husband shaped it. I also covered the cake but the rest was done by my husband. He coloured it and put the other accessories on it to make it as close to the real thing as possible!

My husband and I made 2 cakes for our next door neighbour. The army tank and this boat. He was in the army so we decided to make something to do with the army. He loved it! When he asked me to make his birthday cake he thought he was gonna get something plain so he was very surprised when the cakes were revealed.

My son wanted an 'army' cake so I searched here and found one in the gallery and copied it. He was really happy about it and I got lots of reviews on it. This was my first cake that I sliced and filled with the pudding mouse recipe. It was very yummy!!

This cake was made for a Co-worker who was throwing her dad a Retirment party. I experimented with the camo, and it didn't turn out very well, but I will know how to do it the next time!

This cake is supposed to resemble an M-1 Abrams tank used in Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was a Groom's cake for a wedding. My husband who is in the army reserves helped me out a lot on what it should look like :) thanks to everyone w/ tank cakes for inspiration too! Choc. Ghiradelli fudge cake recipe but with Hershey s choc. powder. Choc/vanilla buttercream dream frosting. Fondant (Satin Ice) tinted/flavored with choc. powder. Nilla wafers crushed for the sand. Gun barrel is a dowel rod covered in fondant.
