Oh my this really did take some creative thinking to disguise the mess I made with the fondant. I grossly underestimated how difficult it would be to cover a number shaped cake. In the end I think I salvaged it pretty well and the recipient was thrilled with the final result but I am def. going to practise more before I agree to do another one.

Chocolate cake covered in hot pink buttercream. Also made 30 chocolate cupcakes with a hot pink buttercream swirl on top to go with the number cake.

white cake with ganache, "black" chocopan fondant. I'm really unhappy with the quality of this fondant, dry and crumbly and not quite black. it tastes good though!

My friend wanted a special cake for her husbands 30th Birthday and asked me if I would make it. He loves to ride his bike so we went with that. She wanted to stress that he was no longer in his 20's (lol) so we made that very clear on the second layer and she supplied the cake topper. The road, bike and ribbon were non edilble.

A 3 layer vanilla cake, with raspberry jelly filling and covered in sugar fondant. The cake was for a 30 year old Michael Jackson fan. Thanks to sugarsugargal for the inspiration

I absolutely hate doing number cakes, but this is what she wanted, so this is what she got. Strawberry cake covered with buttercream and covered with MMF.

The cake: Darn good chocolate cake, with cookies and cream filling, covered in chocolate syrup frosting, bordered with kitkats and topped with maltesers- Chocolatey! I made the cake topper out of fondant (thanks aldoska for the idea).. Fondant flowers, numbers, hair etc. Sugar pearl border, and details in edible food writer.

all buttercream. was meant to be an "over the hill" cake but the customer was "yelled" at by the birthday boy so it turned to basic black/white.

Guy was turnin 30 and friends wanted a cake like a beer bucket. Every thing is edible. Ice is broken glass candy that was butter rum flavored, cake was marble with fondant bucket. Beers are cereal treats covered in fondant

The theme of the party was "dirty thirties" so she literally wanted everything with dirt. Originally she asked for gummi worms, but it looks cheap so I opted in making them myself. :o)

30th birthday cake it came with a special cake for the birthday girl that I just can't show on here. Lemon cake with Blackberry MMF and gel color for the writing on the underwear. This was my first time making this type and it was lots of fun. I had a bit of trouble with this batch of MMF though and it tore very easy.

Birthday cake created for an Hawaiian Themed party. Bottom Layer is Lemon buttercake and top layer is buttercake. Covered in fondant. Surf boards, palm trees, #30, and happy birthday sign made out of gum paste.
