Thank you to everyone on CC who helped me with this cake. A special mention to Squirrely who really helped me out (almost live) when I was making whimsical cakehouse icing for this cake for the first time. The cake is for about 50 ppl...it's 2 9x13's put together.

This was for my Aunt's 50th birthday. The bottle and champagne glass were made in moulds using melting wafers(compound chocolate). The ice bucket was chocolate fudge cake with baileys whipped chocolate ganache. The fondant was brushed with silver lustre dust. The label on the bottle was fondant, with wilton colour paste mixed with vodka and brushed on.

My second attempt at the cooler cake. The Ice is Old Fashioned Rock Candy and the limes are sugared lime candies that I found at our local candy store. (Yes, we use limes for everything in Texas!!)

First time making a diabetic cake & icing. All I can say is the cake tastes ok but it's a good thing there's icing on it because it's very lumpy! Had to flip over the top & put it in the middle because there was NO way to level it!! Very thick batter. Icing wouldn't hold shapes well so had to go with just basic decorating...

8" round. All BC icing. First time making grapes and they were so much fun and easy too! Grapes are dark violet - digital camera turns them blue...ish.

I digitally removed the lucy from this picture because my boss made her and did a very very bad job doing it.
This barrel is something I'm pretty proud of, I made the woodgrain in the fondant with a toothpick and then washed several shades of brown to give it the old wood look.

Cake for my BIL's 40th Birthday tonight. He is a real wine connessier..he judges wine and also is a taster.I made the bottle using a tuna can cutting 1 inch thick circles and then gluing them side by side with icing on a board.Shaped the bottle of the neck smaller.Covered in fondant.Grape leaves are fondant with pearl dust, greapes fondant also.Label is regular paper as I didn't have any rice paper and I don't have an edible image printer.Came out okay for the first try....Fondant accents, tinted gel for wine.

This a chocolate cake with chocolate BC frosting. The wine bottle is real; however, I made a new label in Word and applied it over the original label on the bottle.

This was just a practice cake. I just started class, and this looked like a challenge. It was fun and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I don't know how to make leaves yet, and I didn't want to muck it up.....

Yellow Cake with chocolate frosting and filling. Just used wine bottle/glass mold with milk and white chocolate. Brushed edible gold dust on wine bottle and pearl dust on the glass. Also used pearl dust for the bubbles on the glass, then drizzled melted white chocolate to accent and contrast the chocolate frosting.

This cake reduced me to a sweaty, shaky mess! Horrible humidity set in the day of delivery and when I took it out of the fridge in the garage things started falling off!! What a mess. I got everything fixed and delivered the cake, hopefully escaping before they noticed the shaking hands and sweaty palms. Whew....

A cake I made for a chocolate and champagne celebration, the theme this year was vineyards. 10" round iced in chocolate icing, 50/50 paste wooden slats, wood grain done with an impression mat. Painted with paste colors thinned with Everclear. Gumpaste grapes on top, Latex grapes and silk leaves at base. I made the handle of the press with a paper towel roll covered in fondant, a doweling push through the sides and also covered with fondant.

Finnito! This is my nightmare cake, as I had problems with my batter...The cakes are 6,8,10 & 12 filled with my favorite almond scented caked with almond espresso buttercream filling. The bride wanted wine colored roses that cascaded in front of the cake...I'm not 100% happy with the cascade, but both the bride and groom loved it, so I'm content.
