The sheet cake was a marble cake with buttercream icing, the volcano was devil's food with chocolate buttercream icing, and the dinosaur was a pound cake. The lava was made with piping gel, the rocks were MMF, marshmallow bits, and toffee bits. The surrounding dinosaurs were sugar cookies..the little boy loved it!

Great for a Dinosaur lover! Used the wondermold pan for this one. Built up the icing at the top and pushed the candles down in the top to make the flame.

This was a last minute request from a lady that wanted volcanos from Star Wars on it. I hadn't seen the movie, so I wasn't really sure what I was doing. Never made volcanos before! Kinda tacky. But, oh well. It tasted great, though!:)

Done for a customer that bought the little dinosaur figurines. I am so happy with the way this turned out. It's a yellow cake with chocolate BC. Everything, but the dinosaurs, is edible. And you folks were right...Harry the Caveman wouldn't have looked right at all! Thanks for looking.

Volcano cake with cute dinosaurs that roar and light up when you push a button. The cake is 4 single layers tall and has a cup in the middle to put dry ice in for a smoke effect.

This cake is all edible but the dinosaurs themselves. I mad the volcano out of chocolate and the little bushes out of fruit roll ups. The blue pond is rock candy and i used crush oreos for the dirt and green edible spray as the grass. I enjoyed making this cake so much. It is my first cake ever.

I did this cake back shortly before I finished Wilton 1, for my nephew's Luau-themed birthday party. I used the Wonder Pan for the top, overfilling it so it reached the maximum 8" diameter. For the base tier I used a 9"x3" round pan. The French Buttercream icing was piped on in a shell pattern, then smoothed slightly with a hot spatula to give it the texture you see in the side. The shell pattern was not smoothed beneath the raspberry filling/lava. The sides were airbrushed.

I made this for a little boy turning 6 yrs.old. Bottom sheet cake is a butter/yellow cake and the volcano is chocolate. The tree is made out of fudge stripe cookies and a donut with icing and a dowel rod down the center. Lava on the volcano is white chocolate. SO much fun making this cake, and you should have seen the look on the little boy's face. The waterfall is icing covered with piping gel. With fondant rocks.

My son had a Tiki themed birthday party and wanted a cake that looked like a volcano. I took several elements from different ideas on the web and combined them to come up with this.

It's made from regular boxed chocolate cake mix and plain old chocolate frosting. The "Lava" is dyed vanilla frosting that was "melted" in the microwave before pouring it down the volcano.

This was my first really different cake - and inspired me to get busy making all kinds of cakes since!

I made these for my son's 4th birthday to go with the dino cake. Each child had their own little volcano. I used the mini wonder mold for the volcanoes and fondant with red sugar crystals for the lava. Tip 233 grass and plastic dinos. I got the idea from Cinda's Creative Cakes.

Made for a boy's 6th birthday. Gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, and nut-free chocolate cake with chocolate filling and allergy friendly decorations. Frosted in dairy-free BC, molding chocolate for volcano with life saver "lava" and fondant "boulders." Dinosaurs and turtles were plastic figures. I don't (yet) have the grass tip or I would have used it. Still, I only do this for my little guy and he was pretty darn happy! THANKS!!!! to all the posted cakes I used for inspiration.

Cake for church Luau party. Sheet cake on bottom w/ 8 and 6 inch rounds. Sheet cake was banana w/ banana cream filling, middle layer was a dark chocolate fudge with ganache filling and top layer was white vanilla buttercream between layers. All was done with BC, including palm tree fronds. Did not have a good cake board underneath and got minor cracks in the icing when the cake got moved. Lesson learned there!!

My son wanted a volcano cake. I used Betty Crocker Bake 'n Fill dome pan to make the volcano. Inside the volcano was whipped cream. I thought the dome was too big for the base. I used my fingers to make waves and lava flows, grass tips for grass, and dino toys for decor. I served this tofu cake with vanilla ice cream and shaped semi dark chocolate dinosaurs.

Made with the Wilton Double Tier pan and the mini doll pan for the volcano part. The cloud I made with Color Flow and attached it to a lollipop stick. The stick was a tad too long! The trees are pretzel sticks with tip 67 leaves.
