This is the third cake I've made outside of my Wilton courses. I made this for a 10-year-old girl who was having an "Under the Sea" themed birthday. Cake iced in buttercream. I was much more relaxed with this cake. And, the process is finally starting to speed up just a little... I guess I'm just starting to have my own routine.

This is a chocolate cake, with chocolate and raseberry filling...topped with chocolate frosting and covered in fondant. All details are fondant. I used plastic figurings since I was short on time, and used brown sugar for the sand look. Everyone said it was yummy, and my nephew loved it! He's a HUGE Spongebob fan!

No fail cookie recipe with Antonias Icing.I used my Kopykake projector to project flounder on a clam shaped cookie. The fish cutter alone was too small and I was charging quite abit for each cookie so...I did 50 of these yesterday!

This was my first attempt at making things with fondant icing...it was my little boys first birthday and he loved the shower curtain we had just bought, so I thought I would go for "Under the Sea"..he recognised the things on top so that was a bonus!

I made this cake for my daughter's 5th birthday. Another one of my before cakes. I baked 2, 9x13 cakes, I added food coloring to make the cake a teal color. Frosted with canned frosting. The fish and other items on the cake are made out of starbursts that I melted slightly then flattened and allowed to cool. Then I cut out the different shapes and just added bits and pieces together to make the stripes on some of the fish. She loved it and the cake tasted fantastic!

My first attempt at fondant. Covered two red velvet cupcakes and covered in fondant for top layer. Middle two layers are 8" chocolate w/ chocolate mousse filling. Bottom layer is 10" French vanilla. Ariel and Flounder are plastic. Seashells are white choc w/ luster dust (first attempt there too). Sand is crushed graham crackers. Water is piping gel and color. Pearls are just candy and "dinglehopper" is fondant w/ silver luster dust. Comments appreciated.

Hi! This is my second decorated cake, first two tier cake, first try at MMF... Phew! It's not perfect, but it was a great learning curve. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, covered with MMF, all figures are also MMF. The tiers are 10" and 7". For the grey rock on top, I bake a little cake in a small glass bowl. My DD want an Ariel cake for her 7th birthday, but I didn't want to spend hours doing an Ariel likeness, so I just made a generic mermaid in Ariel's colors. My boyfriend said it looke

This was my daughter's class cake for a cake auction at her school. I had each kid in her class cut and pick a sea animal out of fondant, paint it, then go back and draw faces and accents on them. We also made the seashells out of fondant using molds then painted those as well. We won first place and the cake sold for $320. The kids were so proud!!!!! It was a pretty proud moment for me as well. Thanks to CC!!!

The oval Cake Shape was inspired by a cake here by Oneway! Marshmallow Cones & Bamboo Skewer Flags anchored the Cake towers to the cake. Rock Candy for coral, star cady for Starfish, Wavy candles for some more seaweed and plastic toys helped to set the scene for our Mermaid Cake. I used a Mermaid Digital Scrapbook Kit from The Digital Scrapbook Place to add a Tail to a picture of my DD!

Thank you to Aunt Judy who helped me with this cake. I knew nothing about this show.
It is actually 2 cakes. One open and one closed coffin, sugar cookie tombstones with the TV characters names on them. Fondant covered dowel rods for handles, and a choc. transfer of the tree logo from the show.
