This is my 1st topsey turvey cake. My niece Katie ordered it from me right after I became a member of CC. She saw a pic I had printed out from here that I just loved. She loved it too. So that cake (can't remember who made it) was my inspiration! It was a lot of work & I was afraid to carve the cake more because I would have carved too much & had no cake at all! It is done exactly like she ordered it.
Cakes are 6", 8", 10", Choc, Butter Pecan & Yellow. BCI & covered w/ MMF, decorations MMF & Color Flow~

Mini topsy-turvey...a 6 inch and 4 inch. Wasn't sure how hard it would be so I thought I'd start small!

First attempt at a topsy turvey cake. Party was Alice in Wonderland, and the teapots were the favors for the girls, Velvet Mad Hatter hats for the boys. So each layer coordinated with one of the teapots. Cut outs of Alice and other characters, plus one of the birthday girl on top. Found great crazy candles and put shaped pipe cleaners on the top as well. Was Wilton fondant at the time, now I only use MMF.

My first attempt at a topsy turvey/whimsical cake, made just for practice. The design is a variation on a Wilton one. It's okay, but I'm not thrilled with it. It looks smooshed to me. I think I needed more height in the tiers.

Here is my first cake...I did a topsy turvey for my father's 60th birthday party. It was pretty fun to make, I had a little trouble with the fondant but overall enjoyed the experience and can not wait to make another.

This 3-tier Topsy Turvy white cake with Oreo’s and cream filling was created for a party celebrating my grandmother’s 90th birthday (Nana), my great uncle’s 90th birthday (Uncle Joe) and my cousin’s 30th birthday (Emily). My family asked me if I had been drinking when I made this one….It’s supposed to be topsy turvy! The cake was covered in fondant, and decorated with a sugar paste bow and stars. Happy Birthday Nan, Uncle Joe and Emily! Hope you enjoyed the cake!

This is a whimsical wedding cake done entirely out of marshmallow fondant. The brides colors were hot pink, hot orange, and yellow. There are 5 others cakes around this one, totalling about 300 servings.

I made this Little Mermaid cake for my friends daughter. This is a topsy turvey cake with plastic figurines. On the side of the cake is a fondant wave, and on the top for the rocks, is Lemon Meringue candies that are carved and painted (but edible).

My first attempt at a topsy turvey cake. This was for my daughter's first birthday. Covered in MMF with MMF confetti, ribbon around the bases, and, thought you cannot see it, swirls and dots painted onto the white fondant.

This was for a little boys birthday who loves Dr. Seuss. all around the cake are pictures from his stories: fox in socks, nixie knox, road sign, gold fish bowl. It was alot of fun to do. Everything is made from fondant and the details were done with edible markers.

I was Oh-So-Lucky to have been able to attend a class taught by Browen Weber herself. It was a class teaching the techniques of Topsy Turvey cakes. Bronwen was so much fun!

This mom wanted something a little different, and because she is a close friend I decided to try out a topsy turvey on her. She didn't mind. Cake is red velvet, icing is crusting cream cheese (from this site) and details are fondant.

This was my first attempt at a Topsy Turvey Cake! While I was pleased with the results I wish the daisies didn't hide that the green layer is tilted so much. I was very happy with how the daisies turned out.

This unique topsy turvy wedding cake is themed after Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride. It has alternating tiers of white cake with hazelnut and chocolate ganache and red velvet with raspberry chambord and white chocolate ganache.

First of all, thank you to BKeith for your article. I had done this cake before, but you gave me the confidence to try again...my angles were sharper and I think it was overall better this time!

I was in love with the retro 1942 topper they gave me for this cake...from their aunt's wedding. SO special!

The cake's flavours were Lime Spongecake with Toasted Coconut Buttercream and the bottom tier was Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Buttercream.
