This is my first carved cake! Thank you to Pieceofcake2000 for all your help and inspiration on this cake. It's made with a 9x13 and two loaf pans and iced with buttercream. The best part of the time it took to make this cake is the Birthday boy (4 years old) knew it was Optimus prime!!

Quarter sheet cake - White buttercream sprayed with red color and trimmed in blue. Found the small toys to decorate. The icing didn't get as smooth on this one as I wanted.

My only cake for 2007, for my grandson's 11th birthday in July. Chocolate, as usual with BCI, certainly nothing fancy but he liked it.

Here is the side view of Optimus Prime. The wheels are made from Thin Mints.
I had it stored on my table before the party and my dog got up there and ate half of it. Yes, the dog is still alive :)

My version of the Transformer Optimus Prime. The carving came out ok but my icing job was sadly lacking. But, my nephew loved it, so it was all good.

My son turned six and wanted an Optimus Prime cake. The inside was three different colors of buttercream, all three being the colors of the transformers.

This cake was for a 9 year old boy who loves Optimus Prime. The cake is supposed to be the "all spark" they are looking for, the front plaque is Optimus prime and the top plaque is the autobots sign. All elements are fondant and completely edible.

Molded rice krispy treats covered in gumpaste. It sort of started to sink backwards, but I didn't have time to start over before my son's birthday party. But all things considered I'm not totally unhappy with it.

OK I said I would post this cake success or disaster. I will make this quick so I don't get shut down again. I decided to go off the actual toy which was much easier but still a pain in the butt. Base is wooden dowels and bolsa wood. Legs, neck and tail are RKT, back is cake and the belly is styrophome (only after a failed attempt at defying gravity with RKT). Covered in BC and MMF. It was a disaster on my end but our friend loved it. Thank you everyone for all your help!

I actually had alot of fun with this cake, althought I'm not sure if the customer was too pleased. He asked for bumblebee colors...what can you do?....
