The bottom is 2 10 inch layers. The bricks are fondant as are the trains. The top is a cake made from a 3d train pan. Sir Topham Hatt is fondant. The rocks are fondant. The family loved it and thought I was a little insane for doing it ;)

I needed a small Thomas cake so this is what I came up with the Thomas was the childs. The tip about turning the frosting bright pink and then adding red to make it red really saved time and coloring

My nephew was just nuts over Thomas and wanted a cake to look like him, so I borrowed one of his toys to match it.

Boy's mother wanted a Thomas cake for her 4 year old son, but also wanted to surprise the "mostly female" birthday guests with a flower-power tender.

This is Thomas, Clarabell and Annie. I made the faces and balloons are made out of Fondant, the wheels are cookies, the cake is the 3-d cake batter from this website(worked great!) frosted in BCI

A simple birthday cake for a sweet little boy in my daughter's playgroup. Thomas and letters are colorflow, everything else is buttercream. I'll never buy Wilton's red again after using the Americolor red!

This one is a cake I did almost right after starting the wilton courses, wow, I had forgotten I even had a picture of this one lol. It was a 1/8 sheet cake, for one of my husbands co-workers daughter who loves Thomas the Train. I could live with everything except the way the mouth turned out, wasn't happy with the look of that, but the little girl really loved it, and knew what it was suppose to be lol! So I was ok with that

This cake is HUGE!! It's a 2 layer 11x15 filled with buttercream, I'm pretty sure it weighs more than my 3 year old.LOL! It's also half chocolate, half yello cake. I got the idea from a cake by klstr, thanks for the inspiration!

This is a repeat of a cake I made in December. Unfortunately, I didn't write down how I made the other and this one was lacking in cake so it is not as tall. Customer still loved it though.

My 4 year old loves Thomas and he loves animals, so for his birthday, we did Thomas on Safari. My first attempt at molding animals. The animals are made from rolled buttercream.

My son enjoyed his first Thomas cake so much that he's asked for a variation each year, He actually designed this one by telling me what he wanted it to look like. As usual there were a few boo boos but he enjoyed it. The bridge is actually part of his toy wooden train track wrapped up in saran and covered in the BC. Cake was made before I found CC as you can tell by the runny canned frosting!

Thomas the Train sheet cake. This is a combination of cake ideas I got from this site. I tried the 3-D train cake before with no great luck so I incorporate the toy tain in my Thomas cakes instead. I just use lollipop sticks to keep him from rolling off.

Here is the correct Thomas photo for the description I put with the JoJo cake! He was sculpted from a 3 layer cake and covered in buttercream with gumpaste features. Thank you to all who helped and answered my questions on this cake.

The Thomas on this cake comes from a coloring page. After tracing him onto the cake, I filled him in using buttercream icing and a firm paint brush.

I made this cake for my son because he is a HUGE Thomas fan and I needed to use up some left over icing before it ruined. He helped a little bit.

Madeira cake with sugarpaste. Used Debbie Brown design. Had some trouble with the wheels because my cake did not have the same height as hers, but otherwise her instructions were great! Used my sugargun for the first time, what a pleasure!
