2- 8" square and 6" round carved to "tank" shape. BC frosting on yellow cake. Cake was also camo inside. I took out about 2 cups of batter and colored them green & brown and did random spots and carefully pushed it around so it wouldn't be as marbled. Fun cake for my son's 7th birthday. Thanks for looking

I made this as a birthday cake for a 9yr old. The tire treads are made of black licorice and the sand is crushed graham crackers. The kids loved it.

This cake was a for a groom who is in the reserves and is an Indianapolis Colts fan. The cake was made in 3 layers. Bottom 11 X 25, middle 9 X 13, top half of a ball pan. This was a fun cake to do and the groom and his family LOVED it.

This is a birthday cake for a little girl of one of the director's where I work. It is my first carved cake...Design from Debbie Brown's book and thanks to Merissa who gave me tips on how to do this! I was pretty pleased with it overall and I really learned a lot...mostly that it takes ages to do!!!! Thanks for looking!

This cake is made from 2 8 inch square pans, cut to ractangles and stacked then the cut off pieces made the upper portions. I used licorice for the trims and fondant cutouts for the tire look. Cake is buttercream icing, airbrushed camo and a pretzel stick for the gun mount :) It was fun!

This was a simple WASC cake with chocolate pudding filling, carved from a 9x13 sheet. Hershey's chocolate made up the treads, and chocolate-covered oreos made up the wheels, the gun is just buttercream covered lollipop sticks.

These went along with the tank cake, matching tank cookies. White Velvet cut out cookies with MMF treads and painted marshmallow tops, and chocolate-covered pretzel guns.

Thomas was made using the Wilton Choo-Choo Train pan. I used a pound cake recipe after a collapsing train incident 2 years ago. He's frosted in buttercream.

This is my son's birthday cake inspired by bcake1960. Choc cake with pastry pride and Rich's bettercream. Was hard pressed to find army toys ANYWHERE so the sizes were off, but he was happy with it so I was too.

This was a big cake. It made 40 party-sized slices. There was three layers of Choc WASC with raspberry and then 2 layers of scratch vanilla pound with a hint of almond with banana filling. It was a big undertaking, but was a huge hit!!

I made this for a co-worker who is very involved w/ Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy as he has a son with MD. He is training for a 1/2 marathon so his wife suggested the racing top like the one he will wear that day. I also made an edible replica of the dog tag necklace that he wears with his son's picture on it. The cake is "Darn Good Chocolate Cake" with raspberry filling and iced in choc bc and then Rhonda's Ult. MMF. Images are edible. I wish it looked nicer but I think he will appreciate it.

This is the cake I made for my son's 3rd birthday. While there are a few Thomas kits out there, I decided to 'wing' it with the Wilton pan and made my own fondant face.

This is a half sheet cake, half choc. half vanilla. The family I made this for doesn't like my (or any) buttercream, so I use Rich's Whipped topping-they LOVE it. Thomas is FBCT.

Thanks to ksgirl, I used your idea from your photo, to use the train track border.

My goodness did attention to detail get the best of me this time! There was just so much that I decided to just do the main components of the thing and hope for the best. Cake is a sculpted chocolate cake with buttercream and fondant icings. Decorations are gum paste with piped royal icing; the whole thing is air brushed in camo design.
