My grandson's birthday cake. Almost a disaster cake as the gumpaste/fondant decorations became messed up. I placed this set on top of it instead.

I made this cake for my friend's daughter. The "tile" around the pool was made with chiclets. After having to pick all of thm off to enjoy the cake, I decided next time they'll be fondant. The dolls are from the Poly Pocket beach set. The raft and life preserver were made with buttercream icing. They "water" was made using colored piping gel.

My version from the Wilton 2005 yearbook. This is a 1/4 sheet cut to shape. Camping scene with tent, sleeping bag & pillow, campfire, boy, trees (bird on top and nest in one tree), dock and swimmers.
Piping gel water, graham cracker tent, sugar cone trees, pretzel firepit.

My husband's cousin is on the high school swim team. For their last meet they are having a celebration and requested a cake somewhat like the one I did for the water polo team earlier this year. Although, naturally, things didn't go quite as planned, I am pretty happy with the way things turned out.

This is two 13x9 cakes side by side, one chocolate, one white. It was a graduation pool party. I had the best time creating this cake!

Blue sugar cookie dough glued together with royal icing (and strengthened with melted chocolate on one side of each cookie) then filled with cornflakes mixed with marshmallow creme (dyed blue), complete with a cookie swimmer! For my brother-in-law's birthday and a horrible representation of the image of what it would look like in my mind! I am tempted to try again and do better.

This large sheet cake was done to celebrate our local Aquatic Centre's 10 year anniversary. The swimmers were done using 2 bc transfers and the text was piped over wafer paper. (my trick for nice fonts). This cake even made the local paper!!! (only they cut the swimmers off in the picture)

This is my version of the WomenÂ’s Day magazine cover for June 2006. My client and her twin daughters were thrilled with the cake. I was please with this finished producted, but I hated every moment of creating it! Putting eyes and noses on teddy grahams is not my idea of Art. Oh well, ask what kind of cake before agreeing to do a cake is my lesson here. Your critique is greatly appreciated!

Customer wanted a teddy graham pool party that she saw on the cover of a magazine. This was my take on that cake. I am not completely satisfied with it. I see every little mistake.

My 11 year old wanted a swimming pool cake for her birthday, so this is what I came up with. The swimmers are Polly Pocket dolls with gummy Lifesavers as inner tubes. The towels, raft, and balls are all made of fondant.

Thanks to amandasweetcakes for the inspiration for this cake. This is a 12X18 base cake with a half sports ball pan for the head and 2 loaf pans carved for the arms. Madison is an 10 yr old girl on the Broadway Sharks swim team and loved this cake! I wasn't too happy with it though. All funfetti cake and buttercream icing. Thanks for looking!

This is a custom designed pool to match the backyard of the birthday girl! I had a blast making chairs, noodles, tubes, and the fountain and diving board out of fondant. The rest is buttercream. For the towels I used that old fashion type of taffy in a wax paper strip....worked great!! Happy swimming! P.S. I cut the steps into the cake and then covered tham with fondant for a whiter effect. I also cut the deep end deeper so that the piping gel would appear darker in the "deep end"!

This cake was mostly inspired by the pool cake done on this site by beckykasunic, so Thank you Becky! The top was covered with 2 colors of blue piping gel, the rest is all BC. The ball is a sucker, I just pushed the stick into the cake. Fun and easy cake to do!

Scratch chocolate cake, raspberry filling, and buttercream icing. The water is tinted piping gel. I made for my daughter's swim teacher. I've never made fondant people before and instead of the bathing suits looking like suits, they look more like life jackets! But i thought it was hilarious! So I kept it! I borrowed the idea from someone here on the site (thank you thank you). It isn't really hard, just doing things on such a small scale is tedious. The purple and white are the school's colors

Made this for a staff party for a recreation center that is known as the Bubble, hence the structure. The bubble encases an olympic sized swimming pool 9 months out of the year(winter), and comes off in summer. The Bubble is white cake that I made blue with food coloring. Square is choc. Iced in buttercream.

Cake for my sons 12:th birhday. I always make a themecake for my children and since we have had the most extraordinary summer in Sweden, at least as I have experienced, with trips to the lake and/or sea several times a day, it was easy to pick out this years theme.... Maybe I should have made it more sea-like but I was inspired by an english decorator Lorraine Maccay...
