This is my first cake using MMF. I made is for my girlfriends daughter's 14th birthday. She was really surprised to see that and not a regular cake. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Birthday cake made for a little girl named Summer. Buttercream sky. Fondant grass, sun face, flowers, snail and lady bugs. Royal icing sun rays and butterflies, with gel piped over. (butterfly wings have gel icing "windows") In retrospect, I should have had the sun tilted so you didn't have to look straight down the cake to see the face. But my favourite cake so far!

I did this one when my husband was out of town and I was bored. It was a shame there was no one there to eat it. I ended up throwing it away.

The customer said she wanted something with a butterfly. I did not feel like doing a sheet cake. She loved it!

I made this for a crawfish boil - it is a vanilla Dream Cake with Whimsical Bakehouse icing. The sun is chocolate transfer. It was a big hit. The star border is a bit unimaginative, but I was short on time. Square cake are much hard to ice than round ones!! I did not know that!! I think I will stick to the crusting buttercream from now on. It is so much easier to work with.

I made this for two colleagues at work who are retiring. It is chocolate transfer with buttercream icing. This is my second sun like this and I think I improved on the first one. I used a parchment bag for the outline and I got a much finer line. The inside is a vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse filling. I also added sand and chocolate seashells when I took it to the party. I'll post that pic too. Thanks for looking!!

This is what it looked like when I took it to the party. If anyone knows how to get that nice marbled appearance that is pictured on the outside of the seashell chocolate mold, please share! I wanted those orange shells to be white and orange, but the two colors just melded...

Made for Mother's Day for a friend's girlfriend. He wanted it to be the sun and to say 'Hanne Zonnetje' (which means Hanne - little sunshine). I added some orange pixie dust to the suns rays, just because I thought it looked so boring! He loved it though, and paid me twice as much as I asked for it - hooray!!!

4 layers, yellow cake with banana cream filling. buttercream icing with fondant accents (with magnet figurine) I have 2 different cakes to do for the same person. One is a New York theme (i'll also have the Chrysler building and Brooklyn Bridge) and one will be sun, moon, and stars. I was practicing them both on one cake, as i've never done the buildings before and don't know how hard they'll be when i get there.

I made this cake for a big family get together we are having at he beach this weekend. It is iced in Charlotte's Buttercream (with some butter, not all shortening, which is FABULOUS and pipes about a 7 on a scale of 1-10). THe sand castle was molded in teh wilton castle pan from peanut butter candy melts. The clouds and sun are chocolate transfer, and the fish and sea animals are gummies. The inside is a chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling (made with icing, not cream).

This cake was inspired by one of Debbie Brown's. The sunglasses and the bandanna are MMF. I drew the paisley pattern on the bandanna with an edible marker (Wilton Food Writers). This cake was for our neighbourhood association's summer camp registration. It got me an order for another cake!

This was for my daughter's birthday. The cake is frosted in buttercream and clouds are buttercream. The other decorations are fondant (except the bears). The kids kept asking "can we eat that?". My daughter loved it. Thank you redhotmomof3 for some great ideas!

This cake was made for a special education summer program. It is a two layer half sheet cake, half chocolate, half yellow, with chocolate ganache filling. The icing is BC and the sun is a FBCT. It was miserably hot and humid that day and it held up very well.

I mixed both yellow and orange icings into one piping bag and then filled these cookies in in one motion to create a fiery look.
