This was a cake for my Mom, who turned 82, and my son, who turned 2. They have the same birthday. I have got to find a better way to do sprinkles and writing.

My friend found these cupcakes in a baby magazine. We used the colours and the non-pareils around each rim (the little white, round sprinkles).

The top cupcake is marked with a gumpaste heart because that has the little chocolate gold coin in it for good luck. (I didn't bake it in because I thought it would melt, so I just cut a slit in the baked cupcake and slipped in in before I iced it!)

The wooden stand was made as a Christmas gift last December from my awesome crafty dad. He's so clever!

Not sure that you can tell from the photo, but some of the cupcakes are heartshaped. Chocolate cupcakes with real butter buttercream.

Chocolate cupcakes with swirled regular and chocolate buttercream frosting and sprinkles on top. My son's school does star of the week so that each child gets a week to shine and feel special in school. They are allowed to bring a treat to school and my son wanted chocolate cupcakes. When I told him what I wanted to do he wanted sprinkles added to the top of them, so I said yes.

This cake is not that impressive - it looked a lot better before I put the green sugar on the top!!! This cake was shipped from MA to MI to my brother for his birthday - not a good idea. The cake apparently froze on the way and the fondant made the buttercream grainy and the cake was soggy inside. He did taste it, and appreciated the thought!

I just made these for a friend's daughter cause we happened to be coming for dinner on on her birthday. The ice cream cone cupcakes always remind me of when I was a kid...my mom always made them! I love the fun princess colors and sprinkles...just looks like a party!

My 4 1/2 year old son loves to help his mom in the kitchen...especially with cakes. We made this Duncan Hines strawberry heart cake together for Valentine's Day. It's a double heart pan. He poked holes in the cake and poured on strawberry Jell-O. Then, he shook up some instant cheesecake pudding with red food color. Next, he folded in some Cool Whip and poured it on the cake. The top is decorated with red frosting to outline the heart, some Wilton premade heart candies, and a bunch of sprinkles.

The frosting is the Cool Whip/Pudding Mix recipe. I recommend it highly because it's so easy to make and nice and light and fluffy tasting especially for fresh fruit cakes.

I had a taste for cake so I decided to make a banana cake with chocolate frosting. I didn't want any frills or fanciness so I decided to just add sprinkles!

This is a 9 inch round chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. Very simple! I used sprinkles to
resemble confetti.

For a baby boy shower. I layed a bear cookie cutter on top of the cake and filled the inside with chocolate
sprinkles. Before I took the cutter off, I pressed the sprinkles down into the cake so they would not spread
when I raised the cutter. The balloons are gumdrops that I flattened and the strings are made from
licorice strings.

These turned out so much better than the first time around. They were a huge hit at my daughters picnic this weekend. The box idea for transporting these worked perfectly. The girls LOVED the twist cone, and it's a cherry sour on the top.

This is the easiest cake I ever decorated. The presents are Starburst candies. All the instructions came from Betty Crockers "New Cake Decorating".

Made these for my daughter's end of the year school picnic. Devil's food cake baked inside the cones. Decorated with buttercream icing, sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry half on top. They survived well outside in the hot sun!

The cakes are covered in rolled fondant and then a second layer of fondant to look like frosting. "Sugar sprinkels" and cherry is made out of modelling paste. Cherry is glazed with confectioners varnish to get it glossy.

This was a sugar cookie with antonia74's RI. It was my first time using this recipe, and I was very pleased with how well it worked for me. This was taken from a goofy angle so the flash wouldn't it the plate... sorry!

Here is the anniversary cake that I made for my husband who is a huge Simpsons fan (so am I!). Three years - woo hoo! I got the giant donut idea from kbochick! Thanks for your help Karen! Lemon cake with one layer of lemon curd and one layer of lemon mousse filling. Marshmallow fondant over buttercream and then royal icing poured on top for the pink donut glaze. I made Homer and the sprinkles out of fondant as well.
