I found out from these photos that the mom had added the "4" candle after I delivered the cake...which, to me, wasn't necessary...but, hey, it's her cake! The best part was Michael was *thrilled*!

This was the cake I made for my son's third birthday! We had an outer space theme. I had his picture on it in his astronaut Halloween outfit. (I had to cut it out due to site regulations, but it was adorable!)

This was a fun cake my sister and I did together. Everything is edible except for the wings which was a board we used to stable the cake. It's decorated with BC.

Here is my first cupcake cake. It was for my son and is of the Space Ranger emblem found on the sleeve of Buzz Lightyear's uniform. My son is a HUGE Toy Story fan and loved the cake. Emblem was free handed with bc icing.

This is a cake I made for my son's 4th birthday. The space ship is silver white cake (my mom made this for my 4th bday) with buttercream icing and the moon and "stars" are chocolate cake with buttercream icing! This was a fun cake to do. Tomorrow I will put 4 orange candles at the bottom of the space ship to look like flames!

I made this for my husband's birthday. He loves aliens and spaceships. I spelled out Happy Birthday and his name in cookies. I used the Jell-O jigglers cutters to cut the cookies out. The top of the spaceship is a half ball cake pan, and the bottom is a round cake carved.

13X9 FBCT of Space Shuttle for Retirement Party at Lockheed Martin in New Orleans. Learned lesson with this FBCT and did not cover entire back of Transfer with one color making it thicker. It stuck to the was paper! Yikes! Learned a trick though. Sprayed wax paper w/3M Dust Remover holding the can upside down (freezing) and it refroze the Transfer and I was able to pull the wax paper off! Of course I protected the cake; however, the can said not harmful if swallowed. Cake was too big for freezer.

The topper is made of hand painted cookies on sticks as a space shuttle, solid rocket boosters, and an external tank. The first tier represents the launch fire with cookie flames and the bottom tier, the smolke/steam. During the late night assembly, I forgot to carve the top tier in a conical shape. My son was still delighted nonetheless.

A friend asked me to do a space shuttle cake for her son's 4th birthday. I shaped this one by baking a sheet cake, cutting in half, stacking, shaping, then frosting with buttercream. I used fondant for the windows, wings, and fin (also as supports for the wings). I had fire coming out the back, but you can't tell from this photo.

My dad likes to do a lot of different things, so we struggle with what type of cake to do. So, I incorporated all of the things he enjoys doing (computers, space shuttle, golf, bowling). The cake is iced smooth in buttercream and decorated in buttercream. Golf ball is made from candy clay.

THis was for a boy scout court of honor thing, and the theme was future/space. I got this idea from someone on cakecentral, but I can't remember who, so if it was yours, please make yourself known, and thank you!

This cake was going to have Star Wars figures on top in a battle. The mother of the birthday boy wanted fire and an explosion. I went with an exploding planet-can't see it very good on top though. Didn't get a picture of it with the figures. All buttercream.

Ted fell into the moon crater (from cbc Canada TV series ‘Lunar Jim’ – lunarjim.com).I made this sugarcraft for my son's 5th birthday this week (8+ hours work)

In one of the ‘Lunar Jim’ episodes, Ted the robot fell into a crater. So, I used this as the main theme of this sugar craft. Ted lies in the moon crater, Jim (in blue space suit) and Ripple (the girl in red) laughed. Eco (in green) and Rover (the robot dog) tried pulling him out of the crater.

The space helmets were actually the lids from kid’s
