These are mini cupcakes I made to go along with the soccer ball for my daughter's end of the season party. They are iced with white or green buttercream. The tops are decorated with candy melt shaped either like a trophy or a soccer ball. I planned to do all trophies but ran out of white icing and I thought the soccer balls looked better on those. The trophies were peanut butter flavored candy melts YUMMY!

This is a soccer ball made from the Sports Ball pan, sitting on a 9x13 sheet cake. It's the first cake I've made using the ball pan, and it was fun to do!

I loved this 3D soccer ball in the goal cake I saw here on CC. I don't have the ball shape pan, so my soccer ball is cake cut from a round cookie cutter.

Just a very hurried cake I did for my son's soccer party. Yellow cake with Chocolate fudge mousse filling. Soccer ball was half of sports ball pan. All iced in buttercream. This one almost did not make it since I was so rushed!

This is my first attempt with a ball pan cake. It kind of smooshed incorrectly & I messed up the pentagons & hexagons, but even still I wasn't too sad with it. I'll get it next time.

A soccer ball cake I did with BC grass and fondant on the ball, for two classmates of my kids who love soccer. Chocolate cakes, one with cherry and one with cheesecake flavored filling. I'm happy with it.

Double layer, half white, half choc. Soccer ball is Duncan Hines yellow cake mix with reduced oil for a firmer texture. (Everyone said this was the best yellow cake they had ever eaten.) All buttercream icing. The soccerball is by far the most difficult cake I've done. I was pleased with the outcome though.

I used 2 novelty pans to make this cake. The top half is the Strawberry Shortcake pan. The bottom half is made from a Blue's Clues pan. I cut it to fit the design I wanted to acheive. The cake and the background are made with Buttercream Icing.

This was my first time using the grass tip - lots of fun! First time doing the soccer ball too, the pattern was actually quite easy.

Here is a cake that I did for my friend's 7 year old daughter. This was the 1st cake that I actually sold. The bottom was a single layer 8" chocolate cake. The soccer ball was also chocolate. All was frosted using the buttercream frosting. I bought the candy soccer balls at the bulk section of our local grocery store. The soccer turned out neat but was somewhat time consuming in that a template piece was used for each white & black section. I traced the template pieces on wax paper & etched them on the cake

She wanted a soccer themed cake. I browsed all the pictures I could find to get ideas. Thanks everyone. They loved it. She actually dropped it and just a couple pieces of grass fell off. Whew!!!!

Made for a 9 yr old classmate of my son, I used mini sports ball pan to make a 3d ball. Unfortunately I had no pattern to go off of on the ball and freehanded it so it looks like a soccer ball that was kicked one too many times lol. I got the color ideas off a cake I viewed on here and the little girl loved the cake!
