The donut is a chocolate mud cake. Covered in fondant. The Simpsons are made out of fondant but they were quite tricky to make. I had fun making them and I thought it looked good for my first attempt.

Simpsons painting Happy Birthday sign; Bart spilling paint on Homer.
You guessed it: the images & the writing are all chocolate.
The rope holding the 'scaffolding 'extends to the bottom of the cake.
(ok, the icing could have been a bit smoother.. but I was concentrating on the chocolate design)

Homer Simpson cake, Killer chocolate cake with Lindt chocolate IMBC. Covered in MMF. Its one 6 x 3 inch and 6 x 2 inch, topped with half a sports ball round. The facial features are MMF. This was a birthday cake for my husband, thankfully, as I know there are a lot of flaws. The fondant was too soft and sagged, note his double chin!

My 1st 'decorated' cake. I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday, she was mad about Homer at the time (a week later she discovered Dora!). It is a cream-filled chocolate cake, decorated with buttercream. When I look at it now, all I see is how uneven my icing is, but I was very proud at the time - and my daughter loved it!

The mother originally wanted me to make a 3D tea table cake (like the Wallace & Gromit one in my photos), with all the Simpsons modelled around it, however, her budget was a max of E80, and there was no way I was putting in 12-15 hours of work for that! So, I offered her this instead for half the price and she was happy! Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, fondant name and number sprinkled with disco sparkles.

I made this for my housemate's 21st - she loves the Simpsons and it took me a while to think of how to do it! It's a victoria sponge with fondant, Homer's made of marzipan and fondant with mini donuts! I'm quite happy with how it turned out but it's a shame I couldn't find any black to make his feet!!

Homer made from fondant/gum-tex and it will be used on top of a birthday cake for a coworker.
Turned out pretty well other than I think Homer's head should be a bit longer from eyes to top of his head
I loved doing the donuts and the remote as well

This was for my bf's best friend's bday. He loves the Simpson's so I thought I would do a cake with Marge topless. He absolutely loved it... even gave me one of the best compliments... that my cake tasted like something hostess was trying... I asked what he meant and he said that they try to make something this good, but don't even come close, but my cakes are what the aim for. Sweet huh? :o)

I made the Simpsons with flood icing. They were delicate so I think next time I use flood icing I will give it more time and maybe a reinforcer coat of flood icing on the back. Does anyone know if that would help, or have any other suggestions? It was a fun cake to make - and very funny when we lit 27 birthday candles and the Simpsons' arms caught on fire! It's a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
