Chocolate sponge with real chocolate bc icing. Fondant animals. Oh boy another late nighter - have only just noticed the toothpick sticking through the rooster in the photos. Didin't even see it with my tired eyes. Luckily the cake is being delivered later today so am able to fix it!

This was for a baby shower today. This is a design I've been working on and wanted to do ever since I started doing cakes! I love sheep. It finally materialized, and that was fun. A friend of mine, Cami, joined me to learn how to decorate, and she did the stars and moon and helped lay the MMfondant.

Butter cake filled w/strawberry preserves, covered in BC. Mimiced the bedding chosen from Pottery Barn for the nursery-my friend doesn't know that this is part of her gift...a big part...ha! So I think she'll be surprised :) Tried to represent each part of it a tier at a time...

Thanks to bigcatz for the inspiration! This was huge hit at the shower yesterday. It was my first time making sheep and I wasn't totally thrilled, but my husband said if my two year old could tell they were "eep", they must look like sheep. Ok. :)

A 12X18 2 layer yellow cake with strawberry filling. This is the biggest (and heaviest!) cake that I have done. The theme of the shower was lambs since that is what she is doing the baby's room in. The lamb, tree, and fence are FBCT and the writing is an edible image.

Here's the cake - My stepdaughter LOVES sheep and my SIL is a sleeper (weekends - don't call before 11). Taken from C.Peter's book (downsized of course). Can't tell from the pix the mattress "stitching" but I was happy with the way it came out. Sheep were made of gumpaste. MMF on a choc. cake top layer and a "Funfetti" cake bottom layer - kids choice - not mine. Lot's of laughs from family and friends at the party over the theme.

I made these to take to Easter at my grandmother's. Come dessert time, she wouldn't let the kids eat them. She said they looked too pretty and she didn't want to see them "destroyed." She made the poor kids wait until it was time to go and then she passed them out. (Although a few kids snuck into them, hehe.) I used antonia74's icing recipe. To some of the colors, I added Lorann Oils orange extract.

For my stepmother's 50th, I did a frozen BC transfer of a sheep (she LOVES sheep) and embelished the front (did NOT like the look of it flat). I mixed raspberry filling with shortening-based BC. The cake was a little thin but she still loved it! This year, she's getting the 3D sheep!

This is the cake I did for my nephew's b-day. The cake is iced in BC and all of the accents are in MMF. This is the first time I have ever worked with MMF and it was so much fun.

I made this cake for my step daughters birthday as she loves sheep.I baked the cake in two glass bowls and put the smaller bowl cake upside down on top of the larger one, then shaped it to look more like a sheeps head.I then covered the cake with buttercream, and mini marshmellows. It was a fun cake to do,and quite simple.

I did this for my best friend's rehearsal dinner. She is getting married in a field on her parents sheep farm. The lamb is made from the wilton stand up lamb pan, fondant daisies, and the picket fence is popsicle sticks dipped in white chocolate.

These are MMF - took me a half hour to complete each one. The feet are actually choc chips the I carved and then painted with Americolor's super black. Since I didn't think about the chocolate melting, well, now they "live' in my stepmother's fridge since she loves sheep. I took my inspiration from bmote1 and tried to make my sheep that way cause they were cute!

These are the fondant animals that I made for my son's 1st birthday cake which I'll be making next week. This is my first time working with fondant and I found it pretty easy - like clay only stickier!

The cow is going to be sitting in a bunch of grass so that's why he doesn't have legs. The pigs are going to be in a bit of chocolate icing (to look like mud) so that's why one doesn't have legs. I'll add the green tops to the carrots with green icing when I put them on the cake.

I used the #12 tip and thinned my icing with only 1/2 the usual water for the fluffy dots on the lambs. Took SO long to pipe all 50! argh!!

This is the 3rd of 3 cakes I made for my daughter's 1st birthday. It again was made using the Animal Crackers pan by Wilton. I also used the ready-to-use frosting. This wasn't my favorite one (looked more like a monkey than a lamb), but after doing 3 in less than 2 weeks I wasn't being too picky!

I was asked on Wednesday if I could bring a cake to a church leadership training that we were doing on the 16th. I of course said yes knowing that I wouldn't really have time but did it anyway. Thought it would let other people know that I was doing cakes! Anyway, it didn't turn out like I wanted of course but it's okay. Double layer 9x13 vanilla caramel flavor with the Dulce de Leche caramel for filling, iced in buttercream with fondant accents.

The animals and scene were created to match a bedding set that the new mother had registered for. I borrowed the cow/bird and the sheep off the comforter.
