I made this cake for my daughters birthday. The seashells are chocolate. She loved this one. It seems every cake I make - she wants "that one" for her next birthday. Aren't kids great? They make you feel good without trying very hard.

The wedding invitation had a bride and a groom building a sandcastle, so when I was asked to do the bridal shower cake, I was inspired! :) Bride and Groom are from the Celebrate with Fondant book from Wilton. Sandcastle mold is from Williams-Sonoma. Sand is crushed vanilla wafers and raw sugar. Seashells are white chocolate brushed with luster dust

I got this design idea from another member of cakecentral (newbie). It was for a 6 year olds little girl's birthday party. The shells are made with candy melts and fondant. I used pearl luster dust to make them shine. The sea chest is graham crackers covered with buttercream icing. The cake is icied with buttercream. The sand is light brown sugar. I really had alot of fun making this cake!!

When my boss asked me to do a beach theme cake for his wife, it was going to be on a 1/2 sheet. I had already made the hat and sandals when he asked me to make it an anniversary cake as well. Since the anniversary theme was pearls, I was able to tie them in together. This was a really fun cake and I am happy with the way it turned out.

This is only my 5th (I think) cake. I am really happy with the way it turned out. The color is a little off though - it's not quite as orange as it looks. Anyway, it's strawberry with bc icing thinned with karo syrup. My first attempt at airbrushing as well as doing an actual shape other than round or oval.

This is a carrot pinapple cake with crusting cream cheese frosting. White chocolate shells dusted with luster dust. It was pretty much one disaster after another! First my cake pans overflowed then my icing would not crust... ARGGG. Anyway it turned out ok and was a big hit!

I did my best to lighten the photos, but this is the only one to lighten enough. The reception site was ALL picture windows & the front of the cake was heavily shadowed.
The top was carrot, the middle chocolate, and the bottom vanilla. All covered in off-white buttercream. I wish I had gotten a better pic of the seashells as I was really proud of them. lol The where white & off-white with gold luster highlights.

A little plain but this was my first attempt at a seashell wedding cake. Any suggestions to liven it up would be greatly appreciated!

This isn't a cake but I wanted to share. The basket is royal and the seashells are molded from white chocolate with swirled food colors and then dusted with luster dusts. Pearls are fondant and coral is royal. Sand is crushed vanilla wafers.

This design is from the wilton wonder mold as well as many ideas from this web site! The little girl wanted a mermaid and a dolphin for her birthday cake. I made the little sea creatures in the water and the dolphin out of fondant and added chocolate seashells dusted with luster dust.

The couple married & had their reception river-side; they would depart the reception via boat so they picked this for their cake. The boat and couple are hand molded. Trees are choco transfer - uuggg very delicate! and shells are choco molded. Tiers are iced in buttercream. Unfortunately no matter how many times & ways I tried I could NOT get the man to sit up straight! :(

This is a cake that I did for s project class that I am teaching in April. The cake uses fondant, airbrushing, molded gumpaste, hand painted accents and luster dust. The coral and sand dollars are made of royal icing and have airbrushed color or luster dust on them to add color or highlights.

Seashell wedding cake, with cream cheese icing. I didn't notice until I downloaded pics, but it was a bit lopsided- I used Wilton hidden pillars- they are wonderful! Everyone loved the flavors- fr. vanilla w/strawberry filling, chocolate with Bav. cream filling, carrot with cream cheese filling and lemon with lemon pudding filling. This site played a big part in my success- Thank you everyone!

Everything is made from fondant. The seashells are modeled with push-molds and some are dusted with luster dust. The sand is ground bisquite. Lighthouse base is a sugar-mold, covered with fondant. Pearls are dusted with pearl luster dust and the fishes with light green luster dust.

Whipped icing (Bettercreme) with fondant ribbon, hand molded chocolate shells dry dusted with lustre dust. The larger shells & the chair are made from MMF. I ended up carving out the letters and filling with icing because it wouldn't hold the shape. Used crushed vanilla oreos for the sand.

I made this for two colleagues at work who are retiring. It is chocolate transfer with buttercream icing. This is my second sun like this and I think I improved on the first one. I used a parchment bag for the outline and I got a much finer line. The inside is a vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse filling. I also added sand and chocolate seashells when I took it to the party. I'll post that pic too. Thanks for looking!!

Here is a cake for a young woman, who likes to dive. The cake is white cake filled with lime mousse, white choc buttercream and covered with fondant. All the figurines are gumpaste. I am pretty proud of this cake ;-) It should feed 50 people.

This was a cake I did for pool party. Something with a beach ball is all she told me and this is what I came up with. I used upside down ice cream cones for the "towers" on the sand castle, graham cracker crumbs for the "sand" and Wilton candy melts for the sea shells. It turned out pretty cute... the birthday boy loved it!

This is for my son's end of the year luau party. I got most of the ideas from different cakes here on CC. I feel like this is so unoriginal, because I have been planning this thing for so long, looking at waterfall and luau cakes for so long!!

This had to be the most frustrating cake I have made. All the fish are royal icing and they really didn't harden as much as I thought they would.
While putting them on the cake I think all but 5 broke. Including the top pieces. Too bad I am not getting paid for this cake with the hours put into it I would have to charge too much.I made this cake for my sons 2nd grade class for an ocean festival they are having tomorrow. What do you think of the end results?
Thank you

This cake was done for a bridal shower but it was actually more of a reception cake as the bride and groom had gone off and gotten married in St. Lucia then returned home to celebrate with friends and family. The cake design idea came from the bride's original bouquet of red anthuriums and the tropical location of their wedding. The anthuriums on this cake are made of gumpaste and the seashells are molded from white chocolate. The "sand" is made of crushed vanilla cookies.
