Made this for a couple celebrating their 40th Anniversary with family and a few close friends. The bottom tier is 10", chocolate w/cherry filling. The top tier is 7", almond w/cherry filling. They will be putting some fresh flowers between the layers, wish I had them for this pic! This cake design was inspired by a cake in the 1982 Wilton yearbook.

The little boy wanted a Max and Ruby cake, I couldn't get my edible image machine going, so I did the FBCT, it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, I should have used the stencil letters.

This entire cake was done in buttercream, with the exception of the poppies that were made with royal icing. The ruby slippers are made using the Wilton Ballet Slippers pan and pillars were used to make them look like they had heals.

Max and Ruby Cake for my daughter's 3rd b-day...she was quite persistant and I was sure I couldn't do them. Ruby is easter bunny pan and Max is a store bought disposable from reynolds...not too bad and she loved them!

The client's last name was "King"! So she came up with the idea of crowns with red detailing. I used red Smarties and tiny M&Ms for the "jewels" because the 40th Anniversary is the traditionally the "ruby" anniversary.

Oh boy what a story with this cake. Made it for a guy I worked with, for his daughter's 4th. Made plans to drop it off on the 22nd of December. Called him for 3 days trying to decide on a time for drop off. Can't get ahold of him! Well the 22nd came and went. He called on the Friday, saying his daughter got diagosed with leukemia and his house got broken into while they were gone to the hospital out of town.Well, my God! Poor family! Going to offer cake when she gets home.

An 8 inch round chocolate cake with buttercream icing, gumpaste decorations and a fabric ribbon. I wanted to cover the cake in fondant, but it was a heat wave in my city, so I switched to buttercream, which I can't smooth or pipe very well, so it wasn't really the cake I wanted to make. The in-laws liked it though.

Trying to get my photo to load?!? This isn't quite what I had in my head, but it'll work. The shoes are gumpaste with red sugar sprinkles. The house is the 3D pan and the witches legs are MMF. I had to get a rainbow in there somewhere, so that's why the sides look like they do. And a big thanks to Grammasue for passing on her shoe template!

This is the cake I made for my parent's ruby wedding (40 th anniversary). MMF covered red velvet cake with a big black chocolate ganache heart and some improvisated cheese/yogourt/stracciatella filling.
This was the first decorated cake of mine my mother has seen. She liked very much in spite lf it wasn't the cake I planned. TFL.

This was ordered by my co-worker for her daughter's 22nd birthday. It's a 9 inch dark chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I originally planned on having Dorothy's ruby slippers on a pillow cake, but I just didn't have enough time. The ruby slippers are made out of gumpaste as well as the picture plaque in front. This was my first time using fondant to cover my cake board. Many thanks to nautkl1 on helping with the slippers.
