I got this idea from Mac on here. (thank you so much for your help and the pattern). I did his face as a BCT. My first try at one! Also, the cake has musical notes all around the cake in black and white. It is a pale pink cake. This picture really doesn't do this cake any justice at all. We'll see just how the birthday girl likes it tonight. I still need to work on my BCTs and my handwriting some more. Well- everything. Practice makes perfect. Thank you all for viewing. Please leave comments-

For hubby's surprise b-day party. :) Iced in buttercream, except the faces and trees. I did this last minute and didn't have any icre cream cones or tree formers, so I just had to make do...and have short trees. Oh well. Overall, I am pleased with the results, but it was a learning experience! :)

Thanks to so many good ideas on this site, I created this cake for my daughter's upcoming 4th birthday. This will be the go-to-school cake,a nd we will be decorating the castle cake tonight for the home party. I just love it and it was so much fun to create and to make. Everything but the Dora candle is edible - Buttercream frosting, royal icing flowers, gel water, and fondant stars, leaves, stones and crocodiles. Hoep you enjoy it as much as we do! Thanks for sharing in the fun!

I made this cake with bc icing (colored & chocolate). The river is icing gel and the trees are made with pretzel sticks and icing (the icing was melting off the trees because it was so hot outside!) The rocks are made with jelly bellys and robin eggs. The power rangers were obviously toys that I added. This cake was thought up well in advance but put together just an hour or so before the party! I flew have way across the country to made this cake for my godson and he LOVED it!

My pond cake for course III. Thank you for all the inspiration to all of you with pond cakes in the gallery. I really wanted to do something different. The water lilies and lily pads were a nice project. All gumpaste accents. Cattails are skewers with gumpaste. Even the rocks are gumpaste. My first time making and using MMF and it worked out great.

Made this for a boy turning 13. His party was a paintball party so I put splatters all over and made him hiding behind a broken wall. He loves owls so I put one perched atop the wall with paint splatters too. The design was my sons. I was stumped. He is so creative. I am proud.

Everything in this picture is edible except the animals. I was trying to make my own animals but I just didn't have enough time. Ark is made from a marble cake and covered in fondant. The ramp is white chocolate. The water is blue butter cream. The sand is yellow/brown sugar. The pebbles and big rocks you see are all edible and purchased from a bulk food store. It was a huge hit at the party.

This cake was inspired by Tuggy. She was very helpful by emailing me the instructions for the frog! (Why my frog turned out different - you got me! LOL!!) Cake is larger than it looks. Four 8" tiers of Chocolate with Bavarian Cream filling. Cake board is decorated with fondant and the wishing well cake is covered in Butter Cream with handmade MMF decorations. All decorations are edible! The groom is called Prince Charming so it was a hit at the wedding!

My daughter loves Ariel, so we chose a Disney Ariel doll with the Wonder Mold pan on a 11x15 sheet cake. We have her fin down the back of the rock that is near the shore. Graham cracker crumbs for sand, and buttercream shells other sea items.

I got the idea for this cake from this site. The original one was done by CakesByEllen. Thank you! This is a chocolate/French vanilla cake with BC Filling and icing. I used ice cream cones for the trees and Arrow Root cookie crumbs for the sand. I bought the chocolate rocks at the local bulk store.

Fall out boy themed cake I made for my niece. This is a Chocolate Fudge cake with a ganache filling and frosted in a black buttercream. Aside from the band's name the lyrics to their songs are incribed on top with a #2 tip. The sides of the cake are supposed to resemble a grommit belt.

Chocolate Cake with buttercream icing...piping gel "water", cookie crumb "sandtrap" and MMF rocks that my 9 year old daughter made. Designed for a couple’s 10 year anniversary. The gentleman proposed to his wife at this lighthouse. Three oval layers of devil’s food cake. 50/50 gumpaste and Pettinice fondant lighthouse. Pure Pettinice rocks and greenery. Your honest critique would be highly appreciated!!

My friend's son was really into the rock group Kiss so she asked me to put this particular album cover onto a cake. I found a picture of it, converted the picture on the computer to a pencil sketch so I could transfer it to the cake with piping gel. It's frosted with buttercream and mostly done with a star tip.

the cake is 9x13 covered in bc then brown sugar. the dinosaurs body is 3D egg pan and the neck is rice crispy treat and part of the tail and then cover in MMF. my airbrush wouldn't work so I used a paint brush to apply the color, which I think worked better anyway. the caveman is fondant with a cut out picture for the face. the flat rock is fondant, the only thing not eddible is the small rocks.

My best friend decided that she just HAD to have a waterfall with REAL WATER on her cake. I said no at first of course, but after a professional cake decorator told me it was impossible I was committed to do it! lol. The cake was passion fruit/guava/papaya with pineapple filling and coconut BC, hence the tropical decorations.
