This grooms cake was done in honor of the grooms late grandfather. They would always go to the river together - so this is how he made he's grandfather a part of the wedding. The inner tubes the bride & groom sat on were made out of fondant. The trees were trees that you would see on a train set from the craft store. The river was raspberry jello.

The couple married & had their reception river-side; they would depart the reception via boat so they picked this for their cake. The boat and couple are hand molded. Trees are choco transfer - uuggg very delicate! and shells are choco molded. Tiers are iced in buttercream. Unfortunately no matter how many times & ways I tried I could NOT get the man to sit up straight! :(

I made this cake with bc icing (colored & chocolate). The river is icing gel and the trees are made with pretzel sticks and icing (the icing was melting off the trees because it was so hot outside!) The rocks are made with jelly bellys and robin eggs. The power rangers were obviously toys that I added. This cake was thought up well in advance but put together just an hour or so before the party! I flew have way across the country to made this cake for my godson and he LOVED it!

This little girl wanted a pink pony and a river on her cake. Thought the request was a bit strange at first, but I find the result quite cute. Hope she likes it as well.

The best view of the cake done for a graduate with degrees in geology (ie the rocks) and music. He's an avid outdoorsman, too. The cake is chocolate/white/yellow. Most of the decoration is buttercream. Man is made of marzipan. Writing & guitar are made of royal icing.

All the little duckies are royal icing, the waterfall is too. Grass is green tinted coconut. Everything else is creamcheese icing!

This cake was made in the Wilton 2 mix book pan (with 2 1/2 doctored mixes). The grass was done with Tip 233, and the leaves were done with 352.

The cake was for my DH's step-father's memorial service. The quote was requested by my MIL. (In the last days, it was something he said to her, when asked what he was dreaming about.) DH's step-father was a large man, who nobody could really picture tiptoeing anywhere.

This cake was done for a gentleman and his son for their birthdays. They love to hunt, camp and the entire reason the dad moved to Alaska was to look for gold. the icing is buttercream, the rocks, tent, tools, logs, tent strings, EVERYTHING else was hand made with fondant. The river is CK sugar sparkles in 2 colors of blue. The gold nuggets in the pan and the "hidden nugget" in the river are painted with gold highliter. All items are "glued" down with piping gel for easy transport.

This cake was requested for an anniversary. They wanted an edible monkey and elephant in a jungle type scene. So, everything is BC, except the sign is white chocolate and the tree is a Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookie with fondant leaves. The water is piping gel and the rocks are candy rocks.

Guitar cake pan, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The tree is snow white buttercream, with a pretzel in the center, so that it will hold up and not melt like I seem to get with cream cheese frosting. Fondant rocks and piping gel for water. My first gumpaste figurine.

Birthday cake for my BIL Alex. Cake is Sugarflowers White cake and is covered in my All Butter BC. I had t ouse all butter for dietary restrictions! I am suree glad it wasn't any hotter! You should have seen the frosting melt when all 37 candles got lit!! :) The background was supposed to be blue but the color didn't preform correctly! Oh Well! I think it turned out better this way! My DH found this clip art on line and I drew it on to the cake! I used Melvira's Method to smooth each section!

I made this cake for my son's 2nd grade end of the year party. This is the first time I have ever done fondant figures. I really enjoyed making this cake. The figure is his teacher who is an avid camper. It is an 11x15 square, with an 8 inch and 6 inch rounds. The trees are sugar cones with royal icing, the teacher, back pack & blue bird are fondant. The tent is graham cracker “glued” with royal icing then covered in fondant. The cake it self is a three layer white cake, with white bc frosting. Then covered in green bc, the river is multi hued blue bc piped out with a #12 tip and the tuffs of grass and trees were done with a #233 tip. This cake was completely inspired by Coastiemom and her “Gone Hiking” cake. Thank you Coastiemom you helped me become a hero in my little man’s eyes
I will also post pictures of the other sides. Thanks for looking!

This one was fun to make; but, we were sitting at the party & all of a sudden I realized I forgot to put "Happy Birthday" on it! LOL! Oh well. Another thing - I meant for the river to run over the side but a friend called & we talked while I was doing the sides; I proceeded to put camo right over the spot on the side where the stream should have been. Tee hee! Oh well again! This really was fun to make. I didn't stress over it ONE TIME! Now THAT is a miracle! LOL! Need to perfect the camo technique still.

Camping cake for my favorite co-worker. It was an idea I had one night when I couldn't sleep (I tend to plan out new cakes when I can't fall asleep! haha). It was also inspired by the camping cakes one here! Iced in BC, "airbrushed" with Wilton's spray frosting stuff- accents are fondant except the rocks, which are candy rocks.

This is a dummy cake which I made in Colette Peter's advanced fondant and gumpaste class. All tiers are carved and covered in fondant. Frog is also sculped from foam and fondant. The waterfall is very thin sheets of gumpaste which were draped and then painted with piping gel. The dragon flies are made from gumpaste and leaf gelatin. This was a really fun cake to do.
