this is my first time using fondant and it came out really good - i think the circles on top didnt stick well but they stayed in place until it was cut. Please give your opinions on this cake. Thanks

This is my first ever fondant cake. It is a yellow cake with buttercream. I made it for my husband. He loves anything retro. I made 4 circles on top for 4 years! :) Hope it looks good.

This is a cake dummy decorated for a Bridal Expo that i attended today with franjmc and koko4min.
Covered in fondant, with gumpaste circles. This cake was based on the background of my website, i intended to put a monogram but it broke before i even worked out how to attach it ; )

I used the scooby doo cake in the 2006 wilton yearbook for inspiration. It was marble on the inside which was much more work than I anticipated. I'm charging extra next time...lol!

With a love of cake making, how could I get married and not make my own cake? After much research on a concept and no luck, I stumbled upon a piece of my favourite fabric that this cake was based on! It was fantastic with layers of strawberry buttercream mousse between vanilla cake, and a tier of butter pecan.

Really enjoyed doing this cake. Gumby, Pokey, Flowers and words are half fondant, half gumpaste. VW layer is Chocolate Cake, middle layer (15" petal) is Butter Cake with Bavarian Cream and Almond Crunch filling. Bottom layer (16 x 16) is White Almong Sour Cream Cake with Bavariab Cream filling.

I'm going to take some mini's to sell at a craft fair and had to bring examples over the weekend. Thanks to everyone at CC for inspiration, encouragment, and advice! I really liked doing the retro circles and can't wait to do more!

My father's 49th birthday cake. All in buttercream. I made the DAD letters by pressing D & A cookie cutter letters into the cake then outlining the letters and filling them in with stars.

Cake for my husband's boss's 50th birthday (no pressure, eh?). Bottom tier is dark chocolate with vanilla buttercream; top tier is lemon with lemon curd filling. All covered in buttercream w/ fondant accents. "50" on top is fondant. Other accents are foam or wood (as they were an afterthought).

No fail sugar cookies decoarted with royal icing. Retro inspired Birhtday cookies. These squares are very small and I had alot of trouble with the writing flooding. I will have to make it a little thicker next time.

6in & 8in Devil's Food cakes sprinkled with Creme de Cacoa liqueur and filled with whipped white chocolate ganache. Covered with lustre dusted fondant, decorated with fondant pearls, lustre painted fondant retro circles. Name, age and stars made from fondant covered with champagne disco glitter. Made as a semi-gift (he's paying 40 euros towards it), for my other-half's friend who's having a big birthday bash on Saturday evening.

This is my first attempt at Fondant and it was a very rough one, LOL. I had quite a few cracks and tears that I had to try to somewhat cover with the dots.
The cake is a white mix with a strawberry banana pudding filling inside. The bottom border is BC, everything else is MMF.

This was for a New 10 anchor who was switching over to handle the news10.net website so they wanted a tv. I thought why not go for a vintage tv complete with the lopsided foil covered antenna.

I think the bride took this from a British weddings magazine. I loved how retro it was, with such simple kitchy flowers and leaves. We changed the bottom tier from stamped fondant (in the original photo) to vertical lines to keep all the patterns linear.
