Here is my first try with the imparession mat. Had a little trouble at first but got the hang of it. This is a vanilla cake with vanilla BC, quilt pattern with handmade edible pearls. Tops are silk roses and real roses adorn the plate on the middle cake.

This was my first attempt with a diamond or quilted pattern. I used the plastic impression that is available which made it easy. The bride wanted no more than 2 inches between tiers so I used styrofoam to separate and insert the roses into. Problem was that the stems were pretty flaccid and it took a while to insert them!

This was my very first commission AND my very first time to work with fondant!! For the middle cake I ran into a problem trying to get the fondant to go on smoothly down the sides. I ended up gathering it in the front, hence the flowers to cover my mistake. Someone tell me how to do the fondant right, please! I painted the leaves and pansies with super luster dust. The flowers are royal icing, the leaves buttercream. The top cake was supposed to be quilted. The lines were really faint, though. Help!

Made for my new daughter-in-love. My second wedding cake. Not a great pic for detail. All fondant. Bottom and top layers are "quilted" with pearl dragees in points. Middle tier is small triangles with pearl dragees. Top is silk hydrangea to match bouquets. All is sprinkled with flaked sugar to make it sparkly...

Have been wanting to make a pillow cake and use my diamond impression mat, so took the "domed" scraps from a couple of hex cakes I made earlier this week to make this one. Being round instead of square, I think it looks more like a pie with a teal top crust! Oh well.

My first square wedding cake. Two layers of chocolate, and one layer french vanilla, all filled with buttercream, and fresh strawberry filling. Coated in buttercream, and decorated with ivory fondant, in a quilt pattern. Finished with fresh gerbera daisies.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

This cake was ordered by a chef for a birthday party at his restaurant. Usual pastry chef was out of town. Sorry the pic is not that good. Had to stop at store for fresh flowers and was running late (as Usual). 2 layer 12" French vanilla cake with strawberry wash, white chocolate mousse and strawberries filling. Covered in BC. Quiltd pattern. After driving to restaurant--cake had bulge in middle--POOH!!!

Not sure what album to put this under so it's in weddings for now. It's a dummy from my cake booth, it was also made to show a bride a few different options for her cake.

These cakes were created for a "Sweet 16" party for 3 friends. Each cake has the girl's initial on top and framed with sculpted fondant squares from a silicone mold. Each girl picked out her own design.

Chocolate bottom and carrot cake top. Sugarpaste and RI moon stars & sun. Not very happy with the RI wheels, but live and learn! Next time I'll use sugarpaste for that too.

I did it! I was so nervous but the first one is over now I can't wait for the next one :) This is a 6, 10,14 buttercream cake with fresh roses. 1st tier is swiss dots, 2nd tier is scrolls and 3rd tier is quilted. Thank you to Boween, gourmetcakes and nunuk for all their advice! (The bottom tier has a bad reflection in the picture)

Found a lighted tiara and necklace I decided to put on a cake, then found this site where people were making awesome cakes with Royal Icing. Tried to make the RI tiara twice (only with 6 hours though) and both broke, so the original plan went forth. Regular frosting with Fondant quilted top and strips. First time with marshmallow fondant and RI, pretty fun, wish I had more time to mess around with it!
