I originally planned to use the Wilton Dora pan by just changing her clothes but it was too small for the hair and dress. I cut this out of a large sheet cake and used a pattern printed on frosting sheets to decorate her.

Chocolate cake with "family" bc icing. Decorator icing is regular buttercream. The "family" recipe never smooths out well--but they love the taste--so I don't worry about it. They wanted it to be very "rosey", so that's what they got. One rose for each child at the party.

this cake was made for my daughter's 4th party. It's a two layer quarter cake and 6in. on top. The border is rosebuds and the cones are just sugar cones that I layered with frosting. I also added pink and purple food coloring for a extra special touch to the cake batter-big hit!

I used the Wilton Wondermold cake pan and the doll pick that came with it. I just took off the head of a Barbie we had and put in on the pick.

Made for my daughter's "Gotcha Day" party with other families from our travel group to China to adopt in 2002. Theme of party was "Princess"...so Panda Princess seemed appropriate:) This was my 1st 3D bear..other than batter on bottom of oven from it tipping over once (lol), I was lucky it turned out OK:)

4 y.o. granddaughter wanted a castle cake for her Princesses and this is what we came up with. We did gather ideas from many of the cakes on here and I thank you, we couldn't have done so without the inspiration of your cakes!
10" triple layer bottom, 6" double layer top, colored balls are fondant and the towers are paper towel tubes wrapped in fondant with sugar cones on top also wrapped in fondant. Little RI flowers in the grass.

This was a cake I made for my best friend's 3 year old. I took the design from the 2006 Wilton Yearbook and tweaked it a little. The body is an upside down heart and the head is the Wilton animal crackers pan. Everything is fondant except the crown and the sceptor which were purchased.

Dora and boots are made from Gumpaste. The cake is covered in buttercream and I painted it on so I could give it texture. The spires are made of buttercream. The pink block things, whatever they are called, are half mmf and gumpaste. I had extra yellow so the door is gumpaste. The board is covered in green mmf.

My biggest cake so far. 2- 12" sqaures, 2-6" rounds are cake. The towers are PVC pipe that I had cut to the right height and the turrets are sugar cones. All buttercream. Took me over 12 hours to make. Also made crown "smash" cakes to go with it.

This was my attempt at a 3D castle. I used candy colored sugar cones at the customer's request. I really did not care for this cake...but the lady loved it.

This was made for a little girl who doees not like cake, and isn't too keen on frosting either. (WOW!) So, I tried to keep the frosting to a minimum with the Sleeping Beauty transfer, etc.
