This was created for a friend's birthday. It is a 2-;ayer 9 X 13 chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and chocolate BC frosting on sides. Catfish head and tail were sculpted from a scrap piece of cake covered with grey and white BC with an light overspray of black. Inside of mouth was covered in white fondant and whiskers were 20 gauge wire covered in fondant. Tail was covered in fondant. Very happy with how this turned out--better than the one in my head.

This was my first attempt at a 4 tier cake. It was pretty much a disaster due to many reasons, not the least of which was that there was a hurricane blowing in that day! This was also 3 flavors of cake, and the chocolate caused many problems!

This is a bridal shower cake I did for a couple that were crazy about camping. I used pretzel sticks for the fire wood, split wafer cookies for the tent and upside down waffle cones for the trees, everything else is buttercream and piping gel.

This was done for a co-workers daughters birthday and her friend. The huts are yellow cupcakes piped with the grass tip. The roof of the huts are cocktail umbrellas piped with the grass tip. The ocean is piping gel colored in blue. The Palm Trees are pretzel rods, with royal icing leaves and royal icing coconuts and the edging is 4 Leis held on by the same color buttercream icing.

I made this cake in class. We were to pick somthing our husbands enjoy doing. You guessed, my husband loves fishing. And where we fish here in Louisiana there are alligators. This was a fun cake, to make. Unfortunately it stayed in my car too long and the heat made the layers start to slide.

Here is the cake for my nephews b/day. Many firsts fo me on this. First time making fondant figures, first time making royal icing icc trees, first time using the wondermold pan, and first time sculpting. (however, I only sculpted out a trail from the wondermold, but still s first.) I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. He rides 4 wheelers and raises pigs for Future Farmers of America.

HI

I got this idea off of this site and can't remember who did this cake but I want to thank them!

I know I still need improvement....this cake actually discouraged me from doing this as a business....I just don't know if I'm good enough yet!

I live in the Adirondack Mts of northern NYS. This was for a bride whose wedding was under a tent in her Grandma's backyard, right on the lake on a picture perfect day. The cake was covered in buttercream, then the mountains were hand cut of fondant and painted with luster dusts and snowcapped with more BC. The brides dad made the birch stand.

My son and a couple of neighbor kids wanted me to make a cake. The deal was, I bake the cake - they decorate it! There were three kids, age 10, age 8 and age 7. I think they did a pretty good job on what they titled, "The Boonies Cake".

This cake is all buttercream except for the gumpaste lily's. The bride wanted a very plain, white cake, except for a garland of lily's & ivy sweeping down one side... however, it was 117 degrees that day! So, I didn't completely fill-in with lily's, incase they started slinking down, which she was fine with. So, really scary delivering & assembling in that heat, I had to assemble in an office with AC & then my husband & brother had to carry it about 20 yards! But it all worked-out great! Thanks for looking!

I had someone ask for an outdoor type cake that involved fishing. She wanted a round cake. I saw Lynne's cake in the Nature contest and thought the trees on the side would be perfect, so I used that idea. The lake is piping gel, the rocks, rod and fish are fondant. The cake was a chocolate cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling and buttercream icing.

I was in a hurry when I made this so it really didn't turn out as I had planned. The colors turned out pretty wicked after doing some airbrushing. It was great practice for me.

The best view of the cake done for a graduate with degrees in geology (ie the rocks) and music. He's an avid outdoorsman, too. The cake is chocolate/white/yellow. Most of the decoration is buttercream. Man is made of marzipan. Writing & guitar are made of royal icing.

I made this cake to celebrate my mother's birthday. We live in different parts of the US and met up this past weekend in Minnesota, hence the moose theme (also, Mama loves moose!). Everything is edible except for the moose. The lake and rocks are white chocolate painted with edible paint.

It's a single layer yellow cake with buttercream icing. I used brown sugar for the sand around the lake. This was before we wrote "Happy Birthday" on it in brown icing.

I made this cake for my grandpa's 80th birthday party. The bottom is vanilla cake, middle tier is chocolate, and top is vanilla. He loves hunting and fishing. The cabin on top is a replica of their cabin on the lake. It turned out just like it! He loved it.

This cake was made for a wedding shower believe it or not. It was a couple's shower and the theme was camo but future MIL wanted a snake because that was outdoorsy and hunting to her. The camo cake is 11X15 and the shake was sculpted out of an 8" and a 6" cake. The head was rice krispie treat and mini M&M's for the eyes.

Made for a five year old boy. All buttercream cake and the road is made from MMF. I had fun with this one but thought it could have come out a little better. Still learning with every cake.
