The game cube is my son's favorite thing right now...he requested an icecream cake, so this was filled with icecream and then iced with IMBC. The characters were added when the cake came out of the freezer--they were freehanded from candymelts.

This is the second one of these that i've made. It's 2 stacked 6 inch square cakes covered in fondant to look like a Nintendo Gamecube. The controller is made out of fondant, and so is the cord etc. The first one of these i made the controller out of cake, but because of the small size of it, and the cuts it was too hard to ice and made to look neat. So fondant is the best next thing.

This is the character Yoshi - my son's favorite Nintendo character. He requested this for his 8th birthday. I downloaded the picture on the left (green yoshi) but of course he wanted it Blue!!! so on the right is the black and white photocopy that I coloured blue!!! Did kind of a 2d thing with the shell and the arm. The arm looks a little off, but, oh well.... BC with fondant accents! Thanks for looking!

Here's my gamecube for my son's 9th birthday. It was supposed to be all MMF but mine didn't turn out so i just added some more vanilla buttercream and embellished with Wilton premade fondant. The controller is made of rice crispy treats.

Used the Wilton cupcake pan, and a little minor cake sculpting to make this one. Iced in buttercream. Used the Viva method and turned out pretty good! This is from the Nintendo Mario Brothers games - this mushroom gives you an extra life. I made it for a friend's birthday

This wqs quite an experience to make. I made a practice batch of MMF about a month ago and it turned out great. This time not so good. I gave up and tried the Rolled Buttercream recipe and that didn't turn out either!! At about 3am I gave up and started playing around with the two different hunks of blue sugar. I mixed the two together and that was the consistency I was looking for!! Unfortunately it didn't taste as good as the regular MMF, but it looked okay and that's all that I could ask for at 3am!!

I was asked to make a cake for a little boy turning 6, they just said he likes videogames and stuff like that so I did some research and came up with this one, I wanted to make more similar to real one but ran out of time!!, spent quite a while on the control also.

Everyone who can tell I have never even SEEN a gamecube....raise your hand! :) LOL. This is for my nephew's 8th birthday tomorrow. He saw a similar cube on here when we were looking for ideas, and that was what he wanted! Thanks all for looking...and for being such an inspiration!

I made this cake for my friend Matt. It is a playstation 2. I made it from one sheet cake cut in two and scaled to the exact size of a real PS2. its was really easy. the bottom layer is a bit smaller than the top. covered in black fondant. The remote is a real remote controller covered in fondant. (my dogs ate the one i had made so i had to improvise)

The Luigi figure is a toy figurine, the fence and trees are plastic pieces. The bananas, shells, and stars are all made from fondant. This was only my 3rd cake outside of classes. I really like using the airmaster, but haven't quite got the technique down yet.

This is my version of the nintendo gamecube. Thanks to others, especially yoktom for their posts and inspiration. Mine is a NGC purple. Chocolate cake. This is my First fondant covered cake!!! Yeah. Happy to get that out of the way! The controller is rice crispie treat. All other pieces are 50/50. My son (7) came up with the idea to use the cord for Robert's name. Everyone was pleased and think it turned out great! Thanks for looking.

This one was a challenge! The b-day boy wanted screen shots of his favorate games. (4 of them) and wanted the Nintendo hand held paddle. (I'm not sure what you call it.) Anyway, I had fun making it since I grew up with these games and played the "old" Nintendo. I was surprised that kids still like to play the old games. It was Choc. cake w/BC icing. Since I didn't want to spend hours to make each screen shot, I chose certain areas of the game to try to keep it simple. The teenagers loved the cake!

I made these cakes for my friend. We all chipped in to get him the only thing that he wanted - a Nintendo DS so I stuck with a Nintendo theme. Had some trouble with the mushroom because the stalk I made out of cake couldn't support the weight of the top so after the bottom cake was crushed to death I replaced it with a plastic tupperware container. The star and goomba are also small cakes.

Fondant covered with Fondant accents and luster dust. I was going off of a very bad picture of this, because I have never seen one in person. The birthday boy liked it though...btw he's 25 today. LOL.

This is a practice cake. I wanted to try doing a transfer using buttercream frosting. The cake is about 4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches tall. The cake wasn't completly cool (i wont do that again) so the frosting started to melt but it turned out ok.
What do you think?

Just an Xbox cake made for a customer. Carved, covered in greyish fondant, and airbrushed light silver. I hand painted the darker areas...should have used darker tinted fondant but my black was looking too blue (ran out of Americolor and was using Wilton) and the paint was the color I wanted...however b/c of that the dark parts do not have a very smooth finish.
