This was my first attempt at decorating cookies using the tutorial and recipes on this site (No Fail Sugar cookies and Royal Icing). I made the cookie cutter myself out of galvanized steel ribboning. The ones that are cut backwards are the work of my dear boyfriend who was helping me! Despite my lack of decorating skills I skipped the outlining and did straight flood fill-- and I had such a fun time decorating!

This is my dog in a coffe mug, I did this cake for a friend birthday, She was realy Happy (there were tears and everything) the mug thas the cake covered with mmf, the dog was a stylofoam ball, covered and hand sculpted with fondant, the mug was 6 in x 8 in and cake was almost 13 inches high, I made two separate 6"x4 torted cakes and stactk them. Had a hard time with the mmf getting smooth, but was a lot of work and for the first time with all my cakes I feel pleased with the results. Thanks.

Just playing around with some left over cake & icing. Flowers are handmolded and painted with watered down gel colors. Any advice on how to keep the mug from sagging from the weight of the handle?

I'm sure there must be a few of you sweet cake ladies who are a bit tired of me uploading two pictures almost every time I upload - my reason for this is that every single time I design a cake I spend a long time searching the net for detailed ideas ... which is why I upload close up off my little people - I would love to help anyone wanting to get an idea!

I did this one up as a sample to generate a few orders. Cookies are NFSC w/fondant. Airbrushed the color and added Alice's cookie icing details. The little lights on the round cookie were done w/Americolor's food markers- I LOVE those markers!!

I combined two ideas I saw here - one: using vegetable cans to bake a cake in, and two: the cup of cocoa cake using half the sports ball pan. It's all fondant with buttercream snowflakes. The top says LET IT SNOW, but the flash was too bright.

I saw the idea here. Our office party is snowman-themed. I liked the snowman with just the scarf and nose, but I may end up putting some eyes on him, too.

More firsts for me again! Bottom is chocolate-covered coffee bean cake with almond-cinnamon SMBC, covered with chocolate Bettercream and chocolate stripes, drips and drizzle. Top is chai cake with the same almond-cinnamon SMBC, covered with fondant and chocolate Bettercream for the coffee. Spoon is fondant with luster dust. I took some inspiration on the mug cake from a few posted here at CC.

Got an order for coffee mug cookies (50 @ $1.50)! I asked the lady if she wanted me to do a sketch for her approval and she said she didn't need it as she had seen my kitty cookies and trusted my work! OOOOH - the pressure!!

These were decorated with soft icing. I go nuts decorating the shamrocks, trying to get as many different designs as I can think of.

St. Patrick's Day cake. Marble cake filled with ganache, iced with my first try at IMBC. Colours are not exactly what I wanted, I must investigate differences in tinting IMBC vs. regular buttercream. No matter, my co-workers will devour it anyway, and the IMBC tastes fabulous!

I made these cakes for a coworker who left to open her own coffee shop. The mug is a tiramisu cake (white sponge cake soaked with a Kahlua syrup filled with mascarpone mousse and grated semisweet chocolate). Frosted with vanilla buttercream. The logo is a frozen FBCT and the handle is MMF. The other cake is two layers– vanilla butterscotch cake and chocolate fudge almond cake, filled with Nutella mousse and frosted with vanilla buttercream. Decorated with sugar cookies covered with MMF and glace.

These are made to look like little cups of coffee - I got the idea from Wilton's Cupcake book, but I didn't make the matching saucer because they were for my son's class. They were having a "Coffee House" night to feature all of their writings for the year. I thought these fit into their theme perfectly! The teacher loved them!
