A father contacted me to do his daughter's Bat Mitzvah cake. Not being Jewish I explained the cake would not be kosher. Being a person grounded in God, though, I did understand what a blessed event this is in a young person's life before God. The girl's father requested a cake with clowns and a circus theme. In reverence to the occasion, the father and I came to a more mutually agreed theme. Candles with foil "skirts" were placed on the top to accommodate the ceremonial lighting & prayers of dedication.

My first attempt at a fondant cake. I think it went pretty well. I used the Alternative Marshmallow Fondant recipe I found on CC and really liked it!! 10" and 6" chocolate cakes..covered with buttercream and then fondant. Gumpaste and fondant accents. I believe this was a wilton cake, but I got the idea from this site. Thanks for looking.

Two teachers at my son's preschool were due. One had her baby the morning of "shower day"! We saved her a piece of cake and her "baby". This is my first time (successfully) making and using MMF. I got the idea from one of my Wilton books, and changed a few things to make it my own. Chocolate 10", 2 layer, with oreo cookies and bc filling.

Mde this for my son's 2nd birthday. We are in the process of moving back to the U.S. from Italy so I have been limited on supplies and time so this is all I could crack out. He is in love with moons and stars. He really got a kick out of the cake. He always thinks the cakes I make are for him and he is always upset when they are not, so when I set this one in front of him he was SOOOOOO excited.

My nephew asked for a moon and rocketship cake for his 3rd birthday, and this is what I came up with. I covered the ball cake in the MMF (first time using, I will NEVER go back!) and spackled BC icing for texture over the MMF. Fun cake! Learned alot, but still happy with results.

Made for friend's baby shower. Top tier carrot cake with cc pecan filling, then white cake with choc/caramel chips and layers of fudge and caramel filling and white cake with mini chip and fudge filling. All covered in mmf. Based on adven68's wonderful design except my nursery rhyme characters never made it off the ground!

This 9 x 13 vanilla cake was a same day request for a church member. Iced in buttercream, I drew the rocket ship then filled it in using a #16 tip. The stars and moon were made of fondant with silver glitter added to complete the cake.

double bundt cakes (one up, one down), bc frosting smoothed using Viva paper towels (pressing down with fingers to create a slightly lumpy, bumpy look), grooves created using a skewer pressed into the sides, then black frosting also smoothed using Viva. Stem is a candy-melt covered ice cream cone.

This is the one half of the set of cakes for 4 yo grandson consisting of cartoon superhero The Tick, and the Moon with his name 'carved' into it (it's from an episode that he likes). The moon is the sports ball pan covered (thickly) in BC. He wanted the moon to be blue - I mixed in gray and dark blue, but left the color somewhat swirled. The craters were molded from BC after allowing it to crust over a bit. Very tedious, but not sure how else to make a moon cake.

Ted fell into the moon crater (from cbc Canada TV series ‘Lunar Jim’ – lunarjim.com).I made this sugarcraft for my son's 5th birthday this week (8+ hours work)

In one of the ‘Lunar Jim’ episodes, Ted the robot fell into a crater. So, I used this as the main theme of this sugar craft. Ted lies in the moon crater, Jim (in blue space suit) and Ripple (the girl in red) laughed. Eco (in green) and Rover (the robot dog) tried pulling him out of the crater.

The space helmets were actually the lids from kid’s

White cake with BC frosting. Fondant bear, moon and stars. Thank you to flourgrl for the idea! This cake was less stressful than ones I've done in the past. I'm hoping the more you do this, the easier it becomes. I still feel very new at all of this.
