This is both cakes that I did for my son's 2nd birthday. The half sheet cake is 1/2 white cake and 1/2 chocolate cake, iced in buttercream. The cars are actually the toys that he had gotten out of the Happy Meals. He loved both of his cakes, as did all the party guests. That always makes me feel good!

Thanks for looking!

This is my free-handed close-up of my husbands birthday cake. None of the other photos came out but this one. We watched Disney's "Cars" and that he loves Tow Mater. So that's what he got! It's all done in buttercream.

I made this cake for my son's 3rd birthday. I learned so much from making this. I baked two 9x13 cakes, one yellow and one chocolate...for some reason I was just not pleased with the height of the cakes and when I cut them in half to add filling I almost had a disaster on my hands! I think next time I will do a cake extender to get more height. Everyone at the party raved and just couldn't believe that I had made it. :) Overall I am pretty proud of this cake.

Half sheet, all BC, FBCT top (which I wish I had gotten a little more even on the underside). I made this with the Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes recipe here on CC... substituting the white cake/vanilla pudding combo with Swiss Chocolate cake and Fudge Chocoalte pudding. It was the best chocolate cake recipe I've ever tasted... extremely moist and delicious!

Carved from a small loaf pan. Truck-BC (thick), towing riging-MMF, and tires-50/50 MMF/RBC (thanks for the tip Wendy) I love the combo. This was a smash cake for a 1 year olds birthday. This is actually a wall cling on top of the cake, I told them it would have to be removed, it wasn't edible. I did it as a freeby so they weren't compaining.

This cake was done for a benefit auction. It is a 10x7" chocolate, oval-shaped cake, iced with vanilla buttercream. The "Cars" logo is an edible image the grass and track are airbrushed. The vehicles are Wilton party favors. I hope it does well and someone loves this cake as much as my 6 y/o son does!

This was for my nephew's 4th birthday party. Its chocolate cake with chocolate IMBC, covered in MMF and brushed with copper lustre dust. The green of the eyes is americolor with green lustre dust. I realized at the last minute I had nowhere to stick the candles, so I just jammed them in the top!

A two-tiered "Cars" themed cake for a 3-year old's birthday. Various characters in FBCT are around the sides of the cake with "Welcome to Radiator Springs" in the back. A store-bought Lightning McQueen tops the cake along with flags that I made by printing out a checkered flag design and attaching to skewers. Street signs and mini-roads also adorn the cake.

I made this cake for my twin nephews for their second birthday. It was my first fbct cake. I dreamed about it all night long and didn't get much sleep. I am pretty pleased with it since it is my first. I have a long way to go before I am good at it.

Lightning McQueen & Tow Mater sculpted cakes, covered in MMF on top of a 9" round covered in BC...... Fondant rocks. I'm happy with it how it turned out but my MMF keeps getting droopy after refrigeration which is frustrating, so I've been limited on what I can fill these types of cakes with.

This was for my cousin's baby shower. He saw a picture of a cake I had done before (with LOTS of inspiration from here) and wanted it for their baby shower. The baby's room in decorated in Cars. The right cake is white and the left cake is chocolate. All BC icing. Oreo Cookie track and graham cracker ground. Tree is ice cream cone decorated with bc.

This is a cake made by request of a co-worker for her nephew. All I had to work with two days before the party was that he was a fan of the Cars movie . . . The rest was up to me.
