This was my first attempt at cake decorating and am so very proud of it. Rather easy just making sure it was realistic

This was a cake for my Wilton III course. I was going on a girls' weekend the next day, so decided to make it appropriate with cocktail garnishes. Started with olives and loved them so much I stuck with them. A classmate suggested the mini-olive borde around the bottom. White/choc cake with chocolate almond BC, fondant everything else. What a fun cake to make!

Well, if you have a martini you have to have the shaker and to be very honest I just wanted to make sure I had enough cake for all the people we had coming to the party so I made an extra cake.

I made this cake for my sister-in-law's birthday. The martini glass is an actual glass and is filled with jello shots. It's hard to tell in the pic but the glass has pink polka dots. Cake is vanilla with fresh strawberry filling and whipped frosting under MMF.

A birthday cake for a fun-loving woman's "39th" birthday party, to be held at the lake. The theme for the cake is taken from the Evite invitation the hostess used. Dark chocolate cake, buttercream icing, covered in fondant with fondant decor. BC whitecaps on the waves.

This cake was ordered by a woman who wanted to surprise her hubby. She wanted to celebrate their anniversary by reliving their honeymoon. She wanted a beach themed cake for the occasion. The dog is a puppy that he is supposed to be giving her as an anniversary gift. If not she has an easy one to take care of now! Chocolate cake with buttercream. Fondant figures and gumpaste chairs.

This was for a man’s 40th birthday surprise party. He loves gimlets and Cohiba cigars. The martini is cake covered in fondant and dusted with lime luster dust. There’s a wooden dowel running through the martini, plastic tier and silver doily into the cake. The cigar is chocolate candy clay, painted with red and silver luster dust at the tip, ashes are silver edible sparkles. Smoke is fondant. Cohiba label printed on edible paper and attached to fondant. Limes are candy limes.

Client submitted a photo that I adapted. 8in square yellow 2 layer cake. Martini glass is 50/50 fondant/gumpaste. Drew olive in food coloring, dusted with yellow petal dust for the "liquid" in the glass, oversprayed with super pearl dust via airbrush. The rest is buttercream. Sprinkled cake sparkles on the blank parts by the glass since it looked awfully plain to me. The client said it was "perfect" tho.

I'm so unhappy with the way this cake turned out. 2 6" rounds. French Vanilla w/BC Dream. Martini is MMF painted with a mixture of Americolor Leaf Green and Lemon Yellow. All accents are MMF.

Thanks to Meghanb for the inspiration for this cake! It's a BIG glass carved out of two 11x18 pans. Fondant accents with fondant olives. I loved the cake, but didn't like the paper I used on the board....realized it a bit too late! I guess we learn from our mistakes!

I made these sugar cookies for my best friend for her Bachelorette party. I had a martini theme so I used my martini cutter and also put in a wedding cake for her. I also made up martini cookies as favors to the other guests.

This is a 10inch and 6inch Round Tiered Cake. The layers are french vanilla and theyre decorated with vanilla buttercream throughout. The olives are little stir sticks that I found at a party store. It was a black and white ball for "twin" girls turning 21 and so I used the black and white ribbons and swiss dots to decorate. The martini topper is made out of white chocolate and attached to lollipop sticks. I used sugar crystals for the "drink area" of the glass and attached a green jelly belly as an olive.

This was a pound cake with cream cheese filing covered in fondant. I did this cake for a bartender's birthday. I tried to make the cake match the glass, the glass says "Birthday Girl" and I don't know it you can tell but the glass is sinkin in to the cake. I did use dowels, I just don't think I use enough of them. I actually got paid for this cake even though I just wanted the practice. Besides the sinkin I am pretty proud of myself. Thanx CC for looking and for the ideas.
