I was requested to make a luggage groom's cake for a local magazine. This cake was actually styrofoam so it held up during the photography session. Covered in fondant, of course. It was a lot of fun! Think it would be a cute wedding cake idea for a couple planning a big honeymoon getaway!

Finally, the last of my 4th cake between last night and today. Will be giving this to our Pastor who has accepted a position at Calvary Chapel Merrit Island. He obviously loves the Lord and he is a big fan of the Miami Dolphins. Thanks for looking!

This is my first 3D fondant frosting cake. It was 4 layers of Betty Crocker white cake mix with strawberries and cool whip filling. I did not win the contest but, I still had fun making the cake.

I made this cake for a contest at work celebrating our 35th year anniversary. It was my first fondant cake and I did not know I should use vodka instead of water when coloring the fondant. It is made with white cake and between layers I made a cool whip and strawberry filling. It got lots of good reviews from coworkers, but unfortunately it did not win. I had a lot of fun making it though!

For a bridal shower tomorrow, delivered tonight though, a suitcase with the Bride to be's name on the tag and lots of stickers for places shes been and places shes going. Cake is covered in fondant, and all fondant parts. The suitcase was suppose to have an "antiqued" and weathered look to it. sigh...

Close up of a cake I did for my hubby's office. It is a piece of luggage filled with the stuff you're not supposed to pack. The cake is covered in Satin Ice (which I don't think I'll work with again) and the accent pieces are made of fondant. I don't know if I was more tickled over the prescription botte or the keys next to it.

Inspired by many cakes here on CC, but the purse & shoe are a copy of Ksue's. Suitcase & purse are lemon raspberry cake. Shoe is gumpaste. Chocolate fondant on the suitcase sagged a bit, but the regular fondant on the purse came out nicely. Used edible markers on the tags, and old gold luster dust on the accents. My hubby did the eagle on the passport. :-)

This is a chocolate cake with MMF details. I made this for my Dad's retirement party, he loves to travel. The postcards are all countries/states that he had visited. I used edible images for the postcards, i just found images on the internet and then took them to my local cake supplier.

OK..wow... this is my first luggage cake and I am EXTREMELY happy how it came out lol. In the beginning, I thought this was going to be a cake disaster to be told here on CC, but it worked out! I had to make another sheet cake, cut, construct, etc. This is Vanilla Rum cake with Fondant and fondant accents. Thanks!!
