This couple wanted it all... stars, bears, mint, purple leaves, ganache.  It was difficult to put it all together but I think I did it without being too busy.  It was a hit!

This is my fair entry that I dropped off last night for the novelty cake/other division.  It was supposed to be another bushel of crabs cake but I ran out of time to make the crabs.  I had made the leaves last Thanksgiving to make a turkey cake that never got made so I improvised!

I have been looking forward to this cake order for months! I had never used marzipan to sculpt before, but it was so easy! It tints really quickly, shapes well, keeps it's form beautifully and dries semi-hard overnight. I will definitely be using it all the time now for my decorating. 

The only thing I changed was instead of making the mushroom stems from fragile sticks of gumpaste, I used toothpicks soaked in coffee then dried out. Easy!

This cake was from last year's Martha Weddings magazine issue.

This could be a wedding cake in a larger form. It's a vegan chocolate cake with buttercream icing and decorations.

I thought these cupcakes were going to be a real hassle because the buttercream leaves & flowers were to be piped on top of them...but they weren't as bad as I'd expected!

First, I smoothed the Bailey's Chocolate Buttercream and the Grand Marnier Vanilla Buttercream tops with a small off-set palette knife...then I piped the leaves and flowers onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, froze them and then just placed them on all the cupcakes. 

Froze the cupcakes overnight for easier transport/delivery/setup!!

Gosh, I never thought it would be so difficult making my own birthday cake but I really couldn't think of a design! So I tweaked a design in the Wilton Wedding Cake book and came up with a heart shaped cake iced in buttercream with brush embroidery flowers & leaves. I then wrote 25 and painted gold paint on top:) Can't wait to eat it!

This was my first try with MMF and I loved it.  My only question is.........how do you get all the cornstarch off?  Mine still wanted to show - should I have spritzed it with a light mist of water?  Tips, please!!!

Original design by Wendy Kromer Confections. 
White chocolate MMF leaves trimmed and dusted with gold glitter dust; balls (representing the grapes) made from the same MMF dusted with Aztec gold dust and covered in a hard sugar glaze.  Caramel tendrills. My top layer of buttercream wrinkled for some reason and the second layer bulged.  Not an easy cake to decorate.  The humitidy did a number on both the leaves and the caramel.  So glad this one is done!

OK,bottom cake is two 1/2 sheetcakes, one chocolate, one yellow..next one up is white, then yellow on the last two cakes...It turned out pretty nice for only having fall leaves on it... my basket weave didn't show up as well when I resized my photo to fit on here...LOL...anyways you can see what it looked like..

Wow...was this cake ever chocolate! The tiers were Dark Chocolate cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Dark Chocolate Cake with Bailey's Buttercream and Dark Chocolate Cake with Mint-Chocolate Buttercream...all iced in Milk Chocolate Buttercream.
The leaves were all molded in coloured chocolate pellets and the shavings were bought from a local chocolate shop.

Okay, hopefully the LAST time I have to do this marzipan fall cake this year. This is the third...but I like it. (The smell of almonds is making me crazy already!)

My neighbour ordered a cake from me. The only trouble was they're vegans. She was nice enough to help me out by providing a recipie. I think it turned out pretty good. It's a carob cake (carob tastes like chocolate and is caffine free) and it has a carob glaze. The leaves, acorns, and the sign were made of marzipan.

This is my very first cake & my fisrt time using fondant. It is a Classic Yellow Cake, 2 layers BC in the middle. Used the Wilton Leave shape Fondant Cut-Outs. I painted the veins on the leaves with Wilton Brush-On Color. The pans I used were 9 inch 2 inches deep. This picture is a top view. This was just a trial cake to see if I could actually do it & now hubby can't wait to eat it,lol.

MMF Slats over Chocolate cake with Choc. BC.  Leaves are candy melts piped on fake leaves then pulled off.  Thanks to the person who told me how to do the leaves.

I thought the idea of leaves as nameplate cookies was perfect for this time of year. The wedding's colours were silvery blue and white, so we did 2 shapes of leaves in those colours...one for men one for women.

Simple fall leaves border for a Fall Bazaar setup evening event.  This is a full sheet size made from two half sheets.  It was a lot of work and hazzle and I pray that it doesn't crumble before tomorrow evening.  I will not be making a cake of this size again for a long time.  All buttercream and a yellow cake.  There was also a half sheet chocolate cake with buttercream as well.

This is a basket cake I made for the fall season, 100% edible. I did it for work for a bring a dish pass a dish type lunchean. Nobody would cut into it, so we are now raffleing it off. Can't wait to see how much it goes for.

I entered this in the County Fair and won 1st Place!  Everything is fondant, except for the buttercream haystack.

I recently took a class with Nicholas Lodge.  It was a two day course and this is the final result.  Everything is gumpaste except the wires holding it together and the bow!

This was my first ordered cake.  A stacked birthday cake for a Thanksgiving Birthday.  "Happy Birthday" was written in snow white detail on all four sides of the bottom layer.  Fondant pearls with Copper Luster Dust.  The cake was Autumn Spice.

This cake is for a friend of ours who loves ladybugs. This is a surprise for her birthday and I wanted something very simple. 

4" and 6" stacked (no dowels so we'll see how it works!). French vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream. Ladybugs, ribbon roses and leaves are fondant. Thanks for looking!!

Leaves, tree branch, flowers, acorns and rasberrys are made of gumpaste and then dusted with petal dust. Cake is yellow almond with apricot glaze, a layer of marzipan and then BC icing. Boarder is a tip 104 double swag Thanks to TammyAZ for help with my leaves!

This is a chocolate cake with raspberry and Chocolate Italian buttercream. Oval pan basketweaved with 1/2 of the easter egg pan on top.   I made the following items out of gumpaste: not a creature was stirring sign, poinsettias, holly leaves, holly berries, teddy bear and ribbon.  I then dusted these items with edible luster dusts.  The following items are made out of Marzipan: mouse sleeping, mouse blanket and pillow, Christmas stocking.
