This was my first shot at the 3d deer head cake. I thibk it turned out pretty good. It is made of chocolate cake with buttercream icing. It was actually pretty easy to do. My dad, the avid hunter LOVED it! I want to tryto make it again and fix a few things, but, I was still pretty happy with my first try and having never made a sculptured cake before.

This was a cake for an 8 yr old boy. His grandma said he was in love with the deers, hunter and trees and wanted them on his birthday cake! I used the horseshoe pan and added the bridge, water, rocks and he LOVED the cake!!

I got this idea from a cake already on here. This was my first time painting fondant. It is much harder than it looks. The leaf and acorn were fun to make though.

Okay, I couldn't stand it. I tried to clean up the 18 a little. Then decided to make the camo look like stitched fabric. I always do this; take a picture of that cake then decide after looking at it I need to change some things. :-) Wish we were able to delete pics! :-)

This is a 3 layer butter cake. Covered in brown buttercream icing. The waterfall is fondant with a coat of piping gel for the shine. The trees are sugar cones, and the rocks are jelly bean pebbles. I made this for my brothers grooms cake. Inspired by a photo of a cake I had seen somewhere.

I made this cake for my neighbors 30th bday. He is an avid hunter and the party was held at The Bass Pro Shop's Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant. I wasn't thrilled with the cattails, but his wife was very pleased.

This for a duck hunter and one of my first cakes I had done. The duck was a toy duck. If I were to do this one again, I would make the duck edible!

Made for son who does not like cake so made to fit on top of cherry pie. Made out of fondant and gumpaste. Deer stand legs and ladder are made from skewers. DH thinks the deer is on steriods, but wanted to make sure he would stand on his own. Look for the other animals, rabbit, squirrel and possum.

This was my first camo cake and my second FBCT. My mom drew the picture of the buck for me, but it's nose kinda got smooshed. This was for my Grandpa's 65th birthday. He loved it, and didn't want to cut into it!

I got this idea from a member on CC, thumbs up to all the great members here!! I used the sports ball pan, like she did, & iced in my chocolated buttercream. However, since I am NOT a fondant fan (ick!), I opted to make "feathers" from White Chocolate. I plucked some leaves from my orange tree & used them as my "molds" for the feathers, just adding colors as needed to tint. Also instead of fondant... The turkey's head is a rice krispie treat, his neck a "twizzler" candy, & all else is buttercream! ty all!

I made this cake for my grandpa for his 62 birthday. He loves to go hunting so I thought he would like it. When I made my icing, it didn't turn out right it was like play-dough. Everything trun out ok and I'm glad.

My first grooms cake, and my mom helped me a ton. The duck was red velvet - of course and he was sitting on carrot cake. The head and beak were made out of rice krispe treats, iced in bc and dusted in different luster dusts - done by my mom. Wings and tail were white chocolate dusted with luster dust - my moms idea. I used the football pan for the shape of the body and carved some from their. Blue water was blue bc that had clear piping gel added on top for the glossy water effect.

This was for a little boy named Hunter. He wanted a deer stand or deer feeder on his cake..that is all I was given, so I made a scene that incorporated it. Cake is chocolate with buttercream icing. His name is a frozen buttercream transfer.

OK, this was a heavy cake..It was constructed using 3 8x3inch rounds. The bottom 2 were German Chocolate/Dark Chocolate Cream torted with chocolate buttercream and pecans. The top part of the stump was Devils Food and the mid part hollowed out. The raccoon was carved out of Poundcake and his tail made of Rice K treats. Had a lot of fun with this one. Oh, and his nose is a rolled up, smushed peice of fudge brownie!

The bottom tier is Chocolate covered cherry with chocolate buttercream frosting, the middle is french vanilla with vanilla BC, and the top is fresh strawberry cake with vanilla BC. All covered in MMF and all the figures, rocks are fondant/gumpaste. This was for a 50th birthday where the wife asked me to incorporate hunting, fishing, and the family into the theme. The two white cakes on top were carved into the numbers "5" & "0" and covered in BC. This was my first paid cake!!
