no fail sugar cookies with Antionia's Royal icing... I used to "strongly dislike" baking sugar cookies because of the HUGE flour mess. I LOVE CC and all of the great tips esp. the roll the dough between wax paper and then chill.... I am now on my way to being a sugar cookie addict.

Thanks to sue_dye for the inspiration for this one. I entered this into our local fair today. Three 8 inch layers with shaved 6 inch layer as lid. Royal flowers, indian corn and cattails. MMF ghost with food writers used for eyes. First time I actually made the "daisies" (brown eyed susies) the right way. I had to dowl the lid but since I had to have it "All Edible," I used a candy stick! I hope it holds it, it has to last a week on display! I wanted to use the Jack-o face but I thought it would be too much

Practice cake for Thanksgiving. I used the jackolantern pan but iced it smooth rather than starring in the face. I wanted something simple to welcome autumn. It didn't look so great, but I used maple flavoring in the icing and it tasted awesome!

Spice cake with Cinnamon BC. Pumpkins are rice crispie treats with fondant and BC accents. I got the wheat idea from a cake I saw on CC, which was the initial inspiration this cake.

I've never been a real big fan of Halloween, so we've always celebrated Harvest instead. I made this Harvest Pumpkin for my kids to enjoy during the season. It's two made from scratch vanilla bundt cakes with strawberry filling, iced with buttercream. The stem is an iced ice cream cone inverted to sit on top. It's not perfect, but the kids enjoyed it.

This is a golden buttercake w/ almond buttercream frosting. The cake was made for a cakewalk at our church Harvest Party. Instead of colouring the frosting I left it white, and bought some orange and yellow coloured food spray and sprayed the cake. I did the spray outside, and being that it was windy, the colouring was blown onto the white part. I had fun making this cake though.

This is for a Harvest/Halloween/Birthday/Thanksgiving/Housewarming party for my mother-in-law. They just built a house on a bunch of land and love to garden so I thought it would be perfect.

I started out this cake with the purpose of making it look like a baked turkey. It did not work for me so this is how it turned out. Everything is made from scratch and it is edible. The harvest cornucopia, veggies, fruits, and leaves are gumpaste. The cake is covered in regular fondant and the brown leaves are MMF. The cornstalks are buttercream along with the vines and the bottom border.

Here's my version on the Wilton Bountiful Harvest Centerpiece Cake. I did not have a large loaf pan so I used a half sheet cake and cut it into thirds and layered them. It's a Golden Vanilla Champagne cake w/Champagne BC Icing and RI Mums. I think the Champagne flavoring did something to the icing as I had a lot of trouble working with it, either that or it was just me as I had a lot of trouble with the cake starting with it sticking in the pan and breaking apart. I'm glad it's finished. :)

Kaluha cake with kaluha cream filling and french vanilla with almond cream filling. All decor is buttercream. My family referred to this al the "Leaning Tower of Pumpkins"
I only had one day to make it and decorate it, so I guess I got carried away. Oh well they liked it.
Thanks to discolady for her inspiration!

I used 2 6" cakes, covered in MMF. The leaves and acorns are also MMF. For the leaves I used Wilton's cookie cutters, I then veined them by hand and then airbrushed them. I carved the top of the cake and placed a tea light in it.

I know you won't believe it but my 8 yr. old son made this cake with virtually NO help from me and I think he did an awesome job!!!! It was for a cake decorating contest/cake auction at his school and 5 min. before we left the house the cake exploded!!! The apples were too heavy......so they showed this photo of the cake and auctioned it off anyhow with an I.O.U. that he would make another for the winning bidder! He was thrilled it went for 20 bucks!

I donated this cake to a St. Baldrick's Foundation silent auction, there was a bit of a bidding war on it and it did quite well for the cause!! My husband also shaved his head for it. All the decorations are mmf.
