I made this for a baby shower tomorrow. The invitations had a giraffe pull toy on them. The mom-to-be didn't want anything real cutesy, so this was what I could come up with. I definitely need to practice doing cookies!!

I did this as a gift for my friend's baby shower today - she loves giraffes, and her nursery is decorated with them and with daisy-ish flowers. She really loved it, and that made me so happy! :)

Here's a closeup of the giraffe, made out of MMF.

Sorry again it's so fuzzy - it's this painfully slooooow dialup that makes me crop the life out of these pics! Hope you can still see it.

This cake was ordered by the birthday girl's daughter. She said that her mum was always called "The Giraffe" so she thought it'd be funny to suprise her with this cake for her birthday. This is a (scatch) lemon and coconut cake, with cream cheese vanilla buttercream. Covered in fondant with gumpaste accents. The idea came from The Cake Store in the UK. I really like how this one turned out. The spots were painted on.

This was my first attempt at ganache and tiered cakes. The mother to be wanted all chocolate, so it's a chocolate cake with whipped chocolate ganache filling and poured chocolate ganache glaze. The theme was jungle animals. The animals and grass are painted fondant cutouts.

This is my second cake project ever! I bought the edible images off Ebay and made the babies from fondant. The "girl" is spice cake with orange filling and the "boy" is butter cake with strawberry filling.

6" white cake with chocolate buttercream and MMF accents. Got the idea from a cake decorating book. Really enjoyed adding all of the animals on the trees. Still practicing, but am happy with the results!

I volunteered to make the cake for a baby shower we're having at work, and I'm proud of how it turned out. This was my first attempt at a frozen buttercream transfer, and it went well except for a few spots where I smooshed it too hard and smeared the lines. The buttons are made from candy clay. I had fun making those! My inspiration for using buttons came from several people who've done buttons on their cakes, I can't remember who but THANK YOU!!! Giraffe and zebra were drawn by me :)

I made these for a customer who's 2 children have birthdays only a week apart...they had one huge Madagascar themed birthday party for both kids...the youngest was turning 1, so I also made a smash cake for him.

The 3-tiered cake will feed 55+. Both are all white cake with all buttercream icing. The characters are royal icing transfers...the leaves, rocks & palms are all MMF, pretzel rods for palm trunks...the water is buttercream painted with piping gel...everything is edible! :0)

Thanks for looking!
