This is my first competition anything!!!...A local museum has a gingerbread display out for the holidays, it could be whatever you want, so I chose a gingerbread wedding cake, complete with Mr and Mrs Claus, and a few friends...
This is just for a "peoples choice award"...darn, and was looking forward to a cruise....ha!

Here's my little gingey! I have to say that I have a new found respect for those who make things like this out of clay or paste or whatever! It's hard!! Things kept sticking to me..I couldn't get them on right...etc. ARGH! She's not dry yet...but I wanted to try something new! She's cute, huh?? :)

The icing is fondant. The trees and the gingerbread men are gumpaste. It was first time using fondant. The house is a regular gingerbread kit. Got a little sloppy and tired at the end (3am). I'm a little confused on how to do a tier cake. It was my first time for that too. Any advice, tips would be greatly appreciated and encouraged!! Everyone loved it at church so I was pleased.

I made this tree for my niece. She wanted to take my gingerbread house to school but I told her I would make something smaller for her to take. This is what I came up with.

Gingerbread sleigh with Antonia74's icing and sparkles. The sacks are spice cake with cream cheese icing and chocolate fondant. The Grinch, Max and all the other decorations are fondant. The snow hill that Max stands on is spice cake as well, with cream cheese icing, fondant and then royal icing and sparkles for the snow.

These are "bite sized" iced Christmas cookies. I used NFSC and Antonia's icing. I seem to like them better I think than the larger ones because they are small. Their tininess makes them cuter than the bigger ones I've done. I like the large ones too, just for some reason I really liked the bite sized ones.

NFSC and royal icing. I got my inspiration from another cookie baker on this site, not sure who, but loved her cookies with the strands of lights.
Thanks to all the wonderful cookie bakers on this site.

I made 12 really large (12" x 8.5") gingerbread men and women that were personalized caricatures of the staff members at a local university, then 125 mini gingerbread "students" in t-shirts for a holiday staff party.

I made 16 mini gingerbread houses for my son's pre-K to decorate in class - BIG thank you to TiffTurtle for her tips and recipes, I used antonia's icing like she said as well. I am NOT a cookie person, but I loved working with the gingerbread!!! I admit I cheated a bit and used chocolate graham crackers for the roofs. I had to go out of town the day before STARTED baking at 11:00pm and had to have them all assembled and in school by 9:00am, so I had to cut down the baking time.

I rushed doing this cake and aimed for something simple, yet elegant. I had already done a lot of baking, so I couldn't put much time or thought into it: it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to make it when I got a checker board cake pan set for Christmas and wanted to try it out. It is a 3-layer dark chocolate/french vanilla cake. Question: do you think it would've looked better if I decorated the angel or left it blank? Criticism welcome.

I really love this cake. It looks like a gingerbread house (obviously) but its a Cake!. Its white cake covered in fondant. snowman is made of fondant, snowballs are gobstoppers, tree is upside-down sugar cone with royal icing and decorated with various candies. I Love the Christmas lights around the house. They were Mike & Ikes cut in three parts and the middle discarded

Here is my Gingerbread house for 2006. i have probably made about 3-4 houses. This is by far the largest, it is 30x15x15. I had some humidity problems with the roof (I ended up taking them off and supporting the gbread with foam core). And the jolly rancher windows melted. I replaced 2 with gelatin sheets and I think I will use those in the future. Other than the lights and the above mention roof supports it is all edible. It took about a week of working ...probably 25-30 hours

This was ordered by a customer for a friend who had just had a new baby. I actually did several variations of this bouquet w/ one gingerbread man or woman or child to represent each family member. The "baby" was from Wilton's mini cookie cutter set. The star in the back has the family's last name initial.
