9x3 bottom and 6x6 top...I probably should've added a bow or ribbon to the bottom box...The idea was to have two different gifts, as you would with real ones, which you stack on top of each other.

This was the 2nd cake I entered at the local fair.  It was entered as a Celebration Cake.  This cake took first place and best of show at the fair.  It also generated the order for the 23 centerpiece wedding cakes.  This was my first loopy bow and my first competition cake.

Ordered for a friends wedding anniversary.  Inside was a butter cake with a fresh strawberry buttercream filling.  Bow was made with 50/50 mix and textured with a silk dupion roller.

White cake with strawberry jam filling.  Buttercream icing.  Daisy's fondant ribbon, bow, pearl border, and gift tag.  Super pearl dust was used on the pearl border

Fondant bow on the top picture was a complete disaster.  I put the bow on the cake and started putting the flowers on when suddenly 1/4 the loops fell and broke.  I tried fixing but gave up and went with the bow on the bottom picture.  Thank goodness this was a practice cake.  Next time I will use gumpaste.  Fondant breaks to easy.

An all edible gift box.  Bow and tissue paper made of gumpaste, all else is fondant.

This was my first time using gumpaste and doing a bow.  Next time I don't think I'll use white "glue" for the bow, but at least it was fun to practice!

This was my very first (no directions) stacked cake. I made it for a friend for her baby shower, she originally had given me a photo of a wedding cake on fondant in this was my version of that because I did not how to work with fondant yet. My friend wanted it to look like stacked gifts, and wanted the 3 pearl design throughout the gifts. I love using real ribbon so I cut small pieces and inserted them vertickally to make it looked like a wrapped figts. Froisting is vanilla whipped cream & piped dots.

This cake was for my niece's 21st BD.  French vanilla cake with BC frosting--attempted to make it look like a box.  2nd Fondant bow--love to do these.

This was a cake for my Wilton III course. I was going on a girls' weekend the next day, so decided to make it appropriate with cocktail garnishes. Started with olives and loved them so much I stuck with them. A classmate suggested the mini-olive borde around the bottom. White/choc cake with chocolate almond BC, fondant everything else. What a fun cake to make!

First time trying the fondant bow...used the Wilton Ribbon cutters for all the cutting of fondant, and a Wilton "Punch" tool to get the flower shapes cut out of the fondant ribbons.

This was a last minute cake ordered for a dinner party.  Wish more people got together and had nice cakes for their gatherings ;-) This was an 8" chocolate cake filled with my favorite Amaretto Espresso buttercream filling.  The lid is choclate fondant as are the brown stripes and the other is plain ole' fondant.

This cake was made for a co-worker who goes out of her way to help others; we had a little thank you celebration for her at work.  8" Square lemon cake covered and decorated with tinted red fondant.

This was for a couples baby shower. The baby's room will be decorated in a western theme. The customer wanted me to match the colors of the napkins...I will have to say...those were the hardest colors I have ever tried to match!!!!

This was the diabetic cake I fussed over some time ago.  The "cake" was a chocolate cake made with Splenda for Baking.  The chocolate icing  was made with regular Splenda and was virtually carbohydrate free.  The "gifts" were regular orange cake with the same no-sugar chocolate icing and were covered in fondant.  The ribbons around the packages were fondant and the bows were gumpaste.  The "birthday candles" were 
gumpaste inspired by some in Collette Peter's. "Cakes to Dream On"

Caramel Mudcake, 9 layers of caramel mudcake joined with creamy caramel ganache. Covered in blue buttercream with blue fondant flowers, and a fondant loop bow. This is my first attempt at one of these bows, it was a lot harder than it looked, I got the instructions from this website. I am not 100% happy with how it came out. The cake owner loved it. Gumpaste gift card saying Happy birthday

This was a quick cake I whipped up last Thursday for my best friend, who came to visit.  6" chocolate cake filled with the same, Amaretto Espresso btcm. Covered in chocolate fondant, ribbon board trim. Bow was made of some ole' blue fondant I had sitting around ;-)

This was for a 40th b-day celebration.  Her colors were lilac, cream, & silver.  The gift box is white cake with strawberry filling and the purse is 3 layers of white cake with buttercream in between.  Both are covered in fondant and accented with edible pearls.  I colored the pearls,  the fondant '40' & zipper with luster dust (this was the first time for me to work with the dusts and I must say it was very easy & I enjoyed it!). These cakes fed about 75 people.

This was done with fondant icing for a friend's birthday.  I had to make the loops of the bow a couple of day's in advance in order for them to harden (air dry).

Anyone know how I could have finished the bottom neatly?  For some reason I do better with novelty cakes...these ones that "everyone" knows how to do are difficult for me for some reason!  Anyway the bow is made of candy...I tried a fondant one and it didn't work out so someone showed me how to make the candy melt kind and it did work!  I definately need practice though.... no wonder I can't get any wedding cake orders!!!!

This cake was done for a co-workers daughter, who was turning 21.  These are the colors she wanted. 

the cake itself is three layers of Kaye's chocolate butter cake, with cookies and cream filling..yum!  It is covered in white chocolate fondnat. the bow is also white chocolate fondant.  It was my first time making a bow.  Not bad for my first time.  :)

My co-worker and her daughter both LOVED it!  Thanks for looking.

I wanted to make a Tiffany Box cuz I love the color and this was my first attempt to make a fondant bow... not bad, but I know what to do next time to make it turn better.

I know, I know these Tiffany cakes seemed to be overdone on Cake Central, but not in my world and the Birthday Girl is raving to eveyone as I write this blurb. This is my 3rd fondant practice cake. It is my Grandma's lemon cake recipe. The color was achieved by equal amounts of Americolor Teal and Sky Blue. Your critique very welcome! (Critique: assessment of something, usually a creative work, with comments on its good and bad qualities.) Thanks super big bunches.
