Finnito! This is my nightmare cake, as I had problems with my batter...The cakes are 6,8,10 & 12 filled with my favorite almond scented caked with almond espresso buttercream filling. The bride wanted wine colored roses that cascaded in front of the cake...I'm not 100% happy with the cascade, but both the bride and groom loved it, so I'm content.

I made this cake for an 11 year old girl who lives in the Caribbean. The trees were made of gumpaste and left to dry overnight. The cake is covered in fondant, the island on the cake is made from chocolate cake scraps and covered with graham cracker crumbs and the shells are formed in shell molds

fondant with gumpaste calla lilies. Never taken a gumpaste class. Found how to make calla lilies on this website. Thank you for that cakecentral! Fondant was a bit of a problem though.

As the final practical for my Wedding Cake class I had to make a wedding cake. The cake is actually a dummy cake which is styrofoam. the cakes are covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing lace points and brushed embroidery. I made the calla lilys out of gumpaste and petal dusted the colors on. The board is also covered in fondant and crimped. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Handmade gumpaste booties and a gumpaste daisy adorn the top of this ducky - themed baby shower cake. The cake is covered in fondant, with fondant waves and gumpaste ducks. The inset photo shows how the cake top decorations were attached to a fondant-covered keepsake plaque to give to the mom-to-be following the shower.

The couple married & had their reception river-side; they would depart the reception via boat so they picked this for their cake. The boat and couple are hand molded. Trees are choco transfer - uuggg very delicate! and shells are choco molded. Tiers are iced in buttercream. Unfortunately no matter how many times & ways I tried I could NOT get the man to sit up straight! :(

Combination vanilla/pound cake. Just a practice cake to test "strengthening" my vanilla cake without changing the taste. Used gumpaste flowers just for the picture. Covered in choco-pan.

This is a cake that I did for s project class that I am teaching in April. The cake uses fondant, airbrushing, molded gumpaste, hand painted accents and luster dust. The coral and sand dollars are made of royal icing and have airbrushed color or luster dust on them to add color or highlights.

this was my first attempt at gumpaste/fondant flowers. I made tulips (red and pink), daffodils, and daisies for a flower pot cake. They are fondant with gumpaste poder mixed in.

This was a cake for a UMASS gradutiaon party. The bottom tier is alternating vanilla sponge and chocolate cakes with chocolate buttercream and covered in chocolate fondant. The middle layer is a red velvet cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries covered in MMF. The diploma is made from fondant, the flowers are gumpaste, and the mortar board is chocolate with fondant tassels.

I was inspired by pics from this site on this one. Cake is covered entirely in mmf with mmf accents. Crown is gumpaste with hard tack candy jewels. I would have made the letters on the bottom tier stand out more clearly if I had it to do over. Otherwise...fun cake. It weighed about 60 pounds I think!

This is my first attempt at a fondant bow. I tried airbrushing the fondant. YIKES, it doesn't work. It was a learning experience. I will be making this same bow in a couple of weeks for a shower cake, next time I I will knead the color into the fondant. I was practicing both the bow and the cake. The cake recipe was a scratch chooclate, with chocolate ganche filling. It tasted awesome!

Just finished 5 days of Wilton classes in Chicago. Made this 2 tier stacked real cake--pound cake with buttercream and raspberry filling. Fondant covered with fondant decorations, 50/50 bow, and my design handmade gumpaste bear. Loved the classes--learned borders, flowers, fondant, buttercreams, fillings, etc. May have to re-make this for Valentine's Day!

Gumpaste bow with luster dust.Buttercream with diamond impression (using mat) and flower embossing (using patchwork cutters) along top edge. Writing is fondant. Vanilla cake, Chocolate Kahlua mousse with English toffee filling, Vanilla buttercream icing.

I have made about 30 of these for a wedding cake. It took me a LONG time to figure them out. Getting a real cutter and veiner from Sugarcarft helped. I made them from a half and half mix of gum paste and fondant, then painted and powdered them with petal dust. All the instructions I have found on making them said to make the stamen on florists wire, but I found that making a rope of paste/fondant yellow at one end and green at the other, worked better for me. Thanks for looking!

This is a sweet sixteen cake for my friend's daughter. She wanted me to copy a cake she found on CakeCentral. So this is my attempt to copy it, with the addition of some roses. My friend and her daughter really liked the cake. What a week though! It was so humid out today that the frosting just wilted on the cake, as you can see in the photo. Plenty of lessons learned with this cake! Yellow pound cake with strawberry BC. BC roses. Bow is 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. Super pearl lustre dust for shine.

This guy gave me so many problems! My first one fell apart the day before the cake was due! I used long skewers in the legs and a toothpick for the golf club and one toothpick between the head & body. I used tylose powder + Wilton fondant to make a gumpaste so it would dry faster. All in all it turned out really good for my first fondant man!

This is my first tiered fondant cake. I wanted to try different cakes so the bottom is yellow butter cake, the second is marble and the top is leftover chocolate batter. I made the lilies with gumpaste and royal icing. I used marshmallow fondant which was very stretchy and sometimes just about got away from me.

I wanted to share my baby shoe pattern. It is a good pattern for a beginner because that is what I am! I made them from all fondant but now I would make them 50/50 fondant gumpaste. You can see them in my gallery if you want to see the finished product ...it is the pair of white shoes not the single one..that was the bad prototype... I hope you enjoy the pattern and if you have questions, please give me a shout.

Wilton Course 3 final cake. Yellow cake's covered with fondant. Gumpaste roses dusted with petal dust. Were supposed to be a bit more ivory.

Cake covered with fondant. Green color is a little strange but was trying to match the green in the orchid throat. (shiny spots are Crisco; had some cracking) Orchids are gumpaste painted with airbrush and dusted with petal dust. Done for a friend having a bad day.
