Two layer white cake, buttercream filling, Satin Ice fondant, buttercream piping and FAST dots! Wanted to try a fondant other than Wilton's. Like the flavor of the S. Ice....and it was easy to work with. I still don't like the fact that when I cut my fondant cakes, the fondant separates from the buttercream iced cake side. IS THIS NORMAL??????

These are three cakes that I kind of threw together on Monday night so I would have something to bring to work on Valentines Day. The far pink one I had a little trouble with - I beat the icing on too high a speed - it was a new recipe and I learned quickly that slow is the key!

My mother LOVES ice cream, so I thought this would be a fun cake for her. Yellow butter cake with BC (crumb coat and whipped cream), fondant (Wilton and dark chocolate Satin Ice), melted Wilton dark chocolate (hot fudge), Butterscotch sauce mixed with melted white chocolate (butterscotch sauce), and candied cherries. Oval pan for boat, mini balls for scoops.

Not to bad considering that the top layer of cake broke in two while we were stacking it! Had the kids help cut out the flowers for this one!

This design came from a Wilton book. I couldn't find the baby angel in my area so I ended up making it with rolled fondant. The pink half circles and uppercase letters are also rolled fondant. the rattles and blocks were store bought. The drop flowers are made of royal icing (since I never could make a nice Buttercream drop flower directly on a cake). The rest of the cake is decorated with Buttercream Icing.

This was a three layer neapolitan cake with buttercream filling. The Teletubbies are 3D figurines made from fondant. Fondant was also used in creating the flowers that were placed around the cake. Buttercream was used to cover the cake and to create the ball trim on the bottom.

i did this for my cousins baby shower. i was really pleased with the letters, but not with the rest of it. i didnt care for the colors, but she wanted that. and my buttercream was so hard to deal with, so i had to cover alot of it with fondant.

This is my very first stacked cake and my first time working with MMF. It was also my first time molding - although that is my 3rd try on the baby! LOL. I did this cake for my sister in laws baby shower. I'm not happy with the lettering on the baby's name but overall it turned out alright. I used an 9" and 5" rounds and buttercream. I wish we had VIVA paper towels in Canada. Couldn't find them anywhere.

I made this cake for a baby shower I attended a couple of weeks ago. It's vanilla and chocolate marble with cream cheese icing. The bear and stars are fondant. Thanks to icingonthecupcake for the inspiration. I loved her bear so much, I did my own. I love it - I think it's one of my top favorites that I've done.

5",8", 10" tiers. Used buttercream, fondant, royal icing and chocolate clay. All edible with the exception of the hot wheels at the bottom. I tried alot of new techniques on this cake, and made some awful mistakes, but learned alot and over all, I am pretty pleased. I dont like airbrushed color from the wilton cans. This was for an adult who loved superheros as a kid. I added comics to the sides of the cake support just for kicks.

This is my first wedding cake and I am so glad it is over. I stressed so bad about it. It is a 12, 10 & 8" chocloate & traditional white layers. It is Faux Fondant Buttercream. I had to paint the roses because she had to change the colors. I painted the hearts on with old gold luster dust. I wasn't thrilled with it, but the bride loved it. This was my nightmare and I am glad it is over.

I got this idea from the Wilton Yearbook - it was ironic, in the book the name on the cake was Alyssa as well and that is my nieces name, she loved the cake. I made my balloons too big and I used a different size pan than the book but I think that it turned out quite well for making a few minor mistakes.

Buttercream icing with fondant accents. The bow used to be whole, but when I went to put it on the cake, it fell apart, so I ended up sticking the loops in the cake.

Bottom cake is lemon w/lemon buttercream. Top cake is a dummy covered with MMF. I iced the dummy with too much buttercream so the MMF is kind of screwy, lesson learned. My brother, Alva, loves Michigan's football team, hence the design.

This cake was done for my co-worker's daughter. She is in a production of the Christmas Carol and was celebrating her birhtday at the cast party. The 9 x 12 hazelnut vanilla cake was iced in white buttercream using Melvira's smoothing method. The idea for the theater poster was given to me by Doug. I created the poster on the computer then had the edible image created. The borders were done using tip 199, the stars and theater masks made from fondant and edible glitter added as the finishing touch.

This is for a baby girl shower for tonight...she is a rubber stamp demonstrator too...so gonna make a card to try and match the cake. All BC except for the shoes. Thought it would be cute to add a rose to the inside of the shoe. I was freaking out because I had intended for the basket to be pink..it is coloured in Wilton Rose Petal pink which is beigy looking!!! So I added that same colour with plain rose colour and mixed up the icing so there would be some sort of colour coordination..Hope it looks OK..

Based on Debbie Brown's cake in Easy Party Cakes. I have GOT to find a better way to do those strings. Anyway...bottom is strawberry cake iced in buttercream, made to look like a ragwool rug. Yarn is chocolate from sports ball pan, covered in fondant. Kitten is candy clay. Now I have to transport the thing.....
