This was for our families celebration. Several family members are war veterans, thus the name 'Patriotic Remembrance'

This cake was made for a 3yr old boy celebrating his birthday on the 4th of July. The bear was baked in the stand up bear pan and was placed on a star cake with cupcake accents. The bear's hat and bowtie were made of fondant.

Sorry for the poor quality of this picture. I made this cake for a co-worker that was moving from Ontario to Minnesota to work. If u look carefully, you can see a car crossing the border from Canada to the US. Cake was marble with custard filling & bc icing.

This was made for the family gathering following the funeral of this young man. He had been in Iraq for only a few weeks. It was my 1st and only attempt to make a flag cake.
It's a 9x13x2 sheet plus a small oval. Draped flag is fondant.

This is a cake modeled slightly after the Old Glory cake in the Wilton 2006 Yearbook. It is three layers 1 Red 1 Blue and 1 White The flag is as accurate as I could get it. It has 50 stars and 13 stripes. I had difficulty getting the colors to come out dark enough but I am still happy with the end product. All of the icing is butter cream and the bottom of the cake is a Red, White, and Blue rope border.

This is dh & his friend's idea. They love Larry the Cable Guy, and wanted the rebel flag on top of the cake, and camo on the sides, but I wanted to do something more interesting than a plain sheet cake, so I did the two tiers. The top was carrot cake, the bottom was chocolate cake with chocolate pastry cream filling, and it was all iced in cream cheese frosting.

I did this one in a huge hurry on Canada Day. It was one of my very first cakes, just did it for practice, still didn't have my icing consistency right. Took it to a dark, smoky bar, though, so I figured nobody would even see all the flaws.

These are for a woman who has just moved to Toronto from Japan. Her friend ordered them for her birthday, she misses her country dearly.

The shapes are Cherry Blossom branches, kimono, fans, Japanese flags and the words "Friendship" and "Good Fortune" in Japanese. (That was the hardest part! It's SO hard to write in a language you don't know.) I hope she can at least read them!

I made this cake for my uncle's 80th birthday today. It is a 9x13 sheet on top of a 14x22 sheet. The flag was made of SatinIce fondant. The semicircle is a copy of his Army patch. I had a fit with the flag, the pieces dried out some while I cut others and they just wouldn't stick back together. I managed to salvage it but I was in tears. As usual, I am the worst critic. Thankfully the pictures look better than the actual cake did.

Just another cake i did at work. (this is the second one I have made for the same lady) she said the first one made a grown man cry ( he liked it) It's just a simple buttercream n all that stuff airbrushed and piped medallion on the tip with triple e-motion top border and beaded bottom border. (to get gold you mix lots of yellow with just a touch of purple. keeps the color more vibrant and clean that way). So needless to say the lady just loved it. Tried to make the piping look like feathers

Buttercream/Chocolate buttercream with MMF flag. I made this as a surprise for my good friend's son. Manuel loves football and if you know any Puerto Ricans, you know how proud they are of where they're from and their flag! ;0)

This was for a 60th (diamond) anniversary & 4th of July party. All of the different branches of the family were wearing shirts from the different colors of the rainbow. Hence, the 60, the diamond, the flag, and the little people wearing different colored shirts....
