First time using this stand...hope I draped the fabric right! This was a fun cake I made for a friend whose baby with leukemia turns one this week. I was glad to try to make the birthday extra special, and the cake was fun to make. My icing wasn't as smooth as I would have liked but oh well. Oh and for the ruffle I just used a cute embroidered butterfly eyelet from the fabric section.

This was my first buttercream transfer. It needs improvement, but not bad for a first try! If I knew it was going to turn out that cute, I would have actually iced the cake nicely and smoothed it, plus added borders and embellishments. But we learn from our mistakes....

First Communion cake for my friends daughter. It is a Lemon cake with bc. It didn't come out quite how I had it pictured in my head....do they ever?! The roses are holding up the girl on top. She wouldn't stand unless she was knee-deep in cake! Whatever works! The cross is white choc. with pearl luster dust.

I made these cakes for a little girl's first birthday. Her party was based around the Hugs N Stitches partyware and theme. The sheet cake was for the guests and the 6" was Riley's smash cake. How much fun! Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for my elderly neighbor. She has 6 kids, and doesn't know the last time she heard from any of them on her birthday. I wanted to make her something bright and cheerful, yet not too vibrant, but sweet. It is chocolate cake with all almond buttercream. It was my first time doing brush embroidery, vines, and reverse shell border. I am taking Wilton Course 3 now, and just learned these techniques!

My daughter I signed up for a cookie bouquet class with my Wilton instructor after my cake classes. We had fun. I know now what to do to make them better. This is the one and only so far. I have done the NF without sticks since then.

This was for my God daughters First Communion last Sunday. Bottom border went on during final setup. The flowers are gumpaste, ordered of course, it'll be awhile before I can create anything like those. The second teir looks a little lop-sided for some reason in the picture, it wasn't in person though.

I tried my hand at Elmo after seeing others on the site. It turned out pretty good I think! He is basic yellow cake with buttercream icing. I used mini cupcakes for his eyes and nose.

I received the inspiration for this cake from this awesome website. This is the cake I made for my niece's first communion this past weekend. The cross cake is chocolate and the sheet cake is french vanilla w/white chocolate pudding added for moistness. Everyone loved the cake.

My 7 yr old daughter Abbey decorated with fondant. I helped with the Buttercream frosting. This was her first time using fondant and she loved it.

Sophie, who is 4, made all the fondant decorations all by herself. I made the white cake and buttercream frosting from scratch. She had so much fun and was so very proud of her first cake.

First Communion cake from Wilton's 2003 yearbook. Instead of covering the entire cake in fondant, I iced it in buttercream and smoothed it to try to give the same appearance. However, I did use fondant for the flower cutouts (that's the extent of my fondant experience at this point-it's a lot of fun to use, though!)

This was my first attempt at a handbag cake and my second occasion cake. It was a white cake with custard filling covered with fondant and all the decorations are also out of fondant. Any critiques or advice to improve would be greatly appreciated!

2 tier vanilla and chocolate cake. The bow on top is satin. I could not think of anything else to do and the customer really wanted a tiered cake!

Everything that could go wrong with this cake did go wrong! Luckily it was for my son and not a customer. I tried the petal pans which I think are beautiful but I obviously am not good enough to tackle them yet. It was so hard to ice smooth. I don't know if I will ever use them after this cake.

First birthday cake for a coworker's son. This is based on the design by TamiAZ. Thanks Tami for allowing me to use this! The top is 8 in. Dark Choc. Fudge w/choc. bc, the bottom is 10 in. Fr. Van. w/bc, & smash cake is 6 in. Fr. Van. w/bc. MMF accents & monkeys. I wasn't very happy with how it turned out. The icing kept pulling off the sides and cracking, and I couldn't get it to stack centered and straight. But the mom loved it and said everybody raved about it, so I guess that's all matters, right?

Well, after all this time I am taking Course 1 (again) because I never was able to "get" making roses. So I have to go through the motions for the rest of the class too! Here's my "first" cake. It says "Thanks M.A.C." My youngest DD is taking Animal Science I at HS and her project is shadowing the local vet. We're going in the morning and this is our thank you for letting us invade on their office! Thanks for looking.

This cake is a mixture of different ideas I received from several CC members and their cakes. The top layer is white & the bottom layer is chocolate. Iced in pink BC. The flowers and the number "1" are made of fondant. The name is made of cookies. This was for some friends of ours who was having a large party for their daughter at our church. They were so happy with the cake. Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for my daughter's first birthday- making a tiered/stacked cake with the top tier just for her! Buttercream icing- flowers are made with royal icing. This was my first attempt at anything like this- I'm only in Course 2 of Wilton Cake Decorating classes!! Layers were 10", 8" and the smash cake was a 5" cake.

it is on a board that is 30" x 15" It is made form two 8" rounds and 1 9'x11'. Then I cut the top 1/4 off of a round and freehanded cutting the rectangle to make the bottom of the chalice. The grapes were cut from the bits left over from the bottom of the chlaice. The host was the easiest part. I just had to place it on the board. I iced it once all white and then added the colors afterwards. I added gold and whote for the rays from the host on the board. I also added the IHS on the host with icing.
