This was my first cake! I used 3 or 4 tubes of red food coloring because I didn't even know you could buy the actual icing coloring paste! It turned out great for my son's 4th birthday party. He had a Rescue Heroes Party.

This cake was a last minute thing I did for my friend's 43rd. bday. I got the idea from a cake on this site, of course!
It was a lemon cake with raspberry filling. I took the picture at home so I couldn't light the candles for it (for effect) but, hopefully, I'll get the picture that was taken at the party.

Sheet cake cut and stacked. Red icing is canned strawberry with added red food color. Color was great, would not be stiff enough for any piping. Can't recall what I started with for the black. The black was Chefmaster liquid color.
Decorations are gumdrops, chiclets, m&ms, licorice.

3D fire truck cake done for my 2yo's BDay. My husband is a firefighter so I received many comments on what was missing... It is complete with hoses made from Bubble Tape, gauges, and even windshield wipers and rearview mirrors.

This is a 1/2 sheet cake stacked and shape to a firetruck. The decorations were mostly candies with a little drawing with icing.. The ladder is pretzels we connected with royal icing and then dipped in white chocolate. The hose on back is Twizzler Tropical licorice, and the wheels are Pinwheel cookies, sirens and lights are marshmallows and Dots candy, also the bumpers are made of Doublemint gum strips. This was for a 3 yr. old and we included a picture of him in his fireman's hat on the front windshield.

The Groom gave me a picture of the firetruck he drives. I used a projector to draw the picture on a piece of fondant. I drew with a food color pen, airbrushed, and cut out the shape with a knife. I used icing to stick it to a piece of foamboard for stability and set it at a 45 degree angle on the cake. 4 layer 1/2 sheet ch/ch to serve 100.

This was made for a little boy turning 3. He lived across the street form the rescue squad & just loved the trucks. This truck was his favorite. So I took lots of pictures to go by. The mother was thrilled. This was my first attempt at a 3-d cake. It was so much fun to make.

This picture was freehanded, and we used Justin's foot to create the Firetruck. Of course the picture was enlarged, and my miniture shell's on top started wilting. But everyone loved the cake

This cake is make from cut and carved 9x13 (3 layers). The icing is buttercream and I won't even go into the RED problems! The ladder, windows, books, and fire hose are fondant painted or colored with pens. The letters are royal icing, and the dog, and shield are color flow. My advice on the add ons, make extra and do it well in advance in case they all break. The tires are also fondant, painted. The truck sits up on 4 boards glued together and then glued again to the main board. Thanks for looking

Again this is a photo from last fall that I just transferred to a disc. This was for a friend's son who was turning 2. I didn't have a good picture to use for a FBCT so I just freehanded this one.

Customer wanted firetruck theme. I put the firetruck on front, a fire and fireman with waterhose on one side, a couple of trees on the back and a firehouse on the other side. The fire hydrant, dalmation, firehat and boots are candles. And the 4 fire hydrants on front are candles. The squigglies on top are royal icing. I also spelled out his name and his age "4" on top. I was very pleased with this cake. I think my favorite part is the fire and the fireman on the side.

I actually work for a fire/rescue department, and made this for the Chief's birthday. Everyone got a big kick out of it. Unfortunately, I didn't trim the top to be level, and during transport I cracked the cake right in the middle just slightly. This was my second "starred" cake. Still learning, but thoroughly enjoying the practice!

Firetruck cake for a boy's 3rd birthday party. Got this pattern from the CakeWizard. Pretty easy to follow and this was my first time working with royal and color flow since my Course 2 almost 3 years ago. Not as hard as I thought it would be! Cake is chocolate with a chocolate mousse filling, buttercream icing.

This is the BEFORE picture... had to leave town and gave the mom quick instructions how to add the ladder on top and attach wheels, etc. I think she did a good job adding the last few touches right before the party.

The firetruck is a loaf cake frosted in buttercream with royal icing decorations. The firefighters are royal icing piped onto both sides of lollipop sticks. The hose and nozzle are fondant. The spraying water is royal icing beads piped onto white floral wire. The nozzle and firefighter's arm both have holes for the wire to sit in. This was inspired by a cake on the Wilton website.

I have to thank everyone on CC who posted a picture of their firetruck cake. Everyone of the cakes were inspiration for this one. Carved out of Chocolate and White Almond cakes. Iced in BC with fondant accents.

This is a 12 by 18 cake. BC, with a few fondant accents. The design matches the partyware. This was almost a disaster...cake broke completely in half, and I have my fingers crossed that they'll never know :)

My nephew''s 1st Bday, his mom asked for a firetruck. I had done the pan truck for his brother, so I attempted a 3D one for him. This is the ladder truck at his father's firehouse. The ladder is made out of MMF wrapped around scewers and the front bumper and bucket is also MMF.
