I had never tried FBCT or upside-down cake icing, so I decided to try them together! My husband loves King of the Hill, so it seemed like a good picture to start with. I'm not super happy with the smoothness of the icing, but I'm pretty sure I know what my problem was and how to fix it.

this is a 12x18 sheet cake. It is chocolate with a chocolate ganache/buttercream icing. The pink boarder is done in buttercream. The Hilary Duff is a FBCT that could have been better. The decorations are chocolate molds outlined with royal icing. Big cake and it turned out ok. It was very hot and humid in the house, I put the airconditioner on and directed at the cake so the icing wouldn't melt!

This was my first attempt at a FBCT. It looked great at first, but then the condensation set in.

This was a FBCT that worked out well. It was an experiment, so I didn't bother smoothing out the cake beforehand. Had I known the FBCT would actually turn out, I would have made an effort to make the rest of the cake look nice! LOL

This is my first attempt at a frozen buttercream transfer. It's a mule cake for my brother's birthday. The cake is iced in a special icing that goes with the cake recipe (he doesn't like buttercream icing). The decorations on the cake were buttercream.

This cake was my first attempt at a FBCT. It was a birthday cake for my niece's 10th birthday. She's crazy about Bratz and was so excited when I told her I would make her a Bratz cake.

I attended a trade show for my sister's company called "Around the Block" last week and she wanted me to do a cake for them. This is her Logo. I did a FBCT. It turned out ok but It still looks a bit cracked - I think my icing is to thick? Any suggestions on this would be welcome. Thanks!

This was made for my friend's little boy for his first birthday today. Chocolate sour cream cake soaked with coffee liqueur syrup, whipped chocolate and coffee liqueur ganache and Italian meringue buttercream. My first time with IMBC and my second FBCT - I had a lot of fun with this one!

This is my first cake for someone besides family. It is a CCC with yellow cupcakes and chocolate filling and buttercream icing with a few FBCT. I never tried the rope border before so that is why it is not as even as it should be! For the baby's room she did the "Lambie" theme from Pottery Barn so that is where the idea for the cake came from.

This is a practice cheesecake with a FBCT. I obviously didn't get my color right for the Aggie maroon, it turned out more eggplant than maroon. Plus I made a mistake thinking I could use my lettering to indent the cheesecake and trace the letters with icing, that's why you see the hole in the cake by the "S" on his name, and since I had to put that there I embellished more on the cake with his age and Gig Em. For the real cake I'll only do the FBCT and the border...less is more really applies here.

I made this large cake for a client to feed approx 50-60 people. the top half is chocolate cake double layered and filled with chocholate pudding, the bottom half is vanilla with white chocolate pudding filling. covered in buttercream with FBCT of garfield and sprinkled with confetti then decorated with curling ribbon. This was a big cake and the client loved it.

This cake was for my DH's birthday. We both love Calvin and Hobbes, so it was only natural that my first attempt with a FBCT should be this.

The cake is a traditional Danish birthday cake (except from the BC), layered with a special creme-filling and blackberries from our own garden.
My husband just LOVED it :-)

Homie girl. I was trying to use the font for this, but again for the life of me could not download it.. LOL Well this was my first time making the diebetic icing.. LOVE IT.. I am using it on a tres leches cake.. The only problem I had was it has grinds in it.. I guess from the splenda.. Next time I will add the splenda and jello in a blender to make into a powder. Tres Leches, FBCT and Diebetic Icing..

Orange cake, torted with chocolate buttercream filling. This is the cake that has been driving me crazy.
I combined the fbct method with the upside-down frosting method.
I had a lot of fun making the transfer. And besides a few glitches when I took the parchment off, this has been one of the most fun cakes I've made!
Kiki (the poinging ferret) is a character in one of my friend's and mine favorite web comics. www.sluggy.com

Not pleased with this cake! I mean how on earth are you to do anything when the character is all the same color! I was just trying to keep it from looking like a silouette. On the bright side, I did this for a cousin and I am just picturing a bunch of kids running around with black teeth! It is a FBCT on a choc cake.

My first attempt at Ganache. Just wanted to try different things. The back left is brush embroidery over poured ganache. The back right is cornelli lace with a Royal Icing plaque. The front left is a fbct. The front right is RI plaques. The cakes are chocolate (made with a cake extender) torted twice & filled with one layer of Kahlua Rsbry Cream & one layer of the filling from the giant ding dong cake. All borders are whipped ganache. Not sure how they will taste but I had sooo much fun making them!

This is actually my SECOND FBCT. The first one didn't work because I didn't listen to the advice from the forums and tried a frosting with 100% Crisco. :(
