My first tiered cake. I was so happy it stayed up! Covered with fondant and decorated with royal icing roses on top, sugar mold of LDS Salt Lake Temple, and a mirror reflecting an emblem. Someone tell me how to make the fondant surround the pillars!!!

This cake was for my daughter's seventh birthday (Fancy Nancy theme). The bottom layer was strawberry cake, middle layer was sour cream pound cake, and the top was a confetti cupcake. MM Fondant topped each layer. On the middle layer, I used a diamond impression mat. Fondant pearls were used at the diamond intersections.

The customer wanted something fancy, but for a man. This is what I came up with. I'm not totally happy with the colors, but I like the design and the customer loved it.

For my daughter's first birthday we threw a Marie Antoinette themed party for our little tyrant. This was her cake everything from the sugar fluer-de-lis to the white chocolate crown was editble. The cake was white with a raspberry custard filling and the frosting is rasperry buttercream, the real version which was difficult to work with in AZ. The pinks were a little bolder than I would have liked but I am still pretty proud.

Thanks so much Socakes for your tutorial and for allowing me to try to duplicate your beautiful shoe. Obviously I need some practice, but here's my first attempt . I will be using it for my mother-in-laws birthday cake next week. She's a real shoe fanatic!

This was actually a retirement cake I made for my Husband's Principal. Had to plan ahead and make spare parts. (Beware-- when you bake three 2" cakes they may not equal 6" tall when iced!!) From a Wilton yearbook and patternbook.

Mostly just cake and butter cream frosting (recipe I got from this site was very good!). Put edible glitter on top, and glued a non-edible boa around the base. Also had a sparkler in the shape of a 4 on the top.

Very fun to make, very happy with result. I mixed mahogany and gold luster dusts, brushed over rolled out fondant, placed on cake (for crackly leather look), then brushed more. Sunglasses and case are gumpaste.

This cake was so much fun to make! It was for a little girl who was turning 4 and having a party based on the children's books "Fancy Nancy". In the books the little girl loves everything to be "fancy" and not plain... hence all the action on the cake. Nancy also loves France, so I used toile on the hat box to tie that in a little. It was very Posh (that's a fancy word for fancy)... haha

This cake was made for a Fancy Nancy party, it is a 9 x 13 cake decorated in BC and MMF. The pocket book was made using the mini loaf pan, I used 2 of the mini loaves stacked and then trimmed them and covered them in fondant. The first pocket book I've ever made and I was very happy with the finished product.

I was going to do some mini cakes for 2 tastings, then ran out of time, so I made cupcakes instead with different items I had extra of. I 'shot' the fillings in the middle of the cupcakes. I got one cake out of it! Yeah! There are a few different flavors represented here, choc with choc filling, yellow with raspberry filling, white with lemon fillinf, etc... oh, also almond amaretto filling inside choc - yum!

This is an 2 layer 8" with a 2 layer 6" white cake on top. I used fondant for all the flat decor. I found jewels with stainless steel backing at an arts and crafts store (since my Aunt loves shiny stuff) and used a small dot of buttercream icing to stick them to the sides and top. I found the feather and floral pieces at that same store and simply wrapped the stems with fondant before inserting them into the cake. I mixed vanilla flavor with green pearl dust to paint the fondant flowers on top.

This is a cake I made for my daughter's 4th birthday. It is based off of the children's book "Fancy Nancy". It was REALLY ugly at first. But, in the end, it came together. Thanks for looking!

This was for a Fancy Nancy themed party. The mom just said girly...I hope I accomplished it! I really agonized over this cake but I think it turned out fine in the end. Buttercream with MMF accents. This was my first tiara and after I figured it out, it was fun. I would love feedback! TFL!
