This is a wedding cake that was custom made for a Medieval themed wedding. At the bride and grooms request, the bottom layer is German Chocolate with traditional German chocolate filling and Chocolate Buttercream icing. The top layer is Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing.

The exterior decorations are made of fondant, royal icing, and buttercream icing. The entire cake is enhanced with shimmer dust to give it an iridescent glimmer.

I can't believe how well the sketch AND the stencil turned out. I was pretty happy with the way it all turned out. Mainly the dragon, the rest is kinda same ol' same ol'.

Cameron is quite the fairy princess type girl. So a fairytale castle was what she ordered for her 4th birthday. This castle differs quite a bit from the Battle Castle I made for Zack. Instead of the stone wall press plate, I decided to create the impression of bricks by randomly scattering patterns of two or three bricks in relief. (more below)

This cake was baked in a Pyrex bowl and covered in MMF. I airbrushed the fondant with pearl dust and added the lines in ivory. The wheels and accents are all in gumpaste. I didn't know how to get the gumpaste to roll out properly as I have seen on this site in other pics (letters made of gumpaste). I couldn't get a long enough piece. Any ideas would be welcome. One wheel broke beyond repair. I would probably use an edible image to do the door next time instead of painting it on.

I made this for a 2 year old. I set this up for the picture and then delivered each cake as a separate. A friend of the mom rearranged the set up so that the 2 smaller cakes were in back and the bridges went from the top edge of the bigger cake to to the top edges of the smaller cakes. I really liked the set up they came up with, but I wouldn't have done that before delivery because I didnt' want to mess up the borders. Also learned that I need to really work on my piping straight lines (in the windows!)

Not impressed with how this came out! Feel like throwing in the towel! Any comments on how I can improve would be greatly appreciated.

I used GRAMMASUE's beautiful castle cake as inspiration. Thank you GRAMMASUE! (didn't turn out anything like yours!)

This was my daughter's 1st birthday cake. Her theme was fairytale unicorns. I made this carousel because I wanted a good challenge. The bottom tiers are cake, the carousel top is styrofoam, fondant and royal icing, the unicorns are royal icing on dowels.

This is a simple 8" chocoalte round cake iced with BC. Background is airbrushed with puple. The castle is made of fondant and dried on flower formers to stand up from the cake. Letters are also (purple) fondant. All fondant was coated with Super Pearl (my new best friend), quilted side design with lots of dragees all over the place! This was a fast and fun one to put together last night.

This is my first attempt at a castle cake. The top cake is chocolate and the bottom cake is vanilla.I didnt fill them because i thought it might collapse. The cakes are covered with chocolate buttercream, then fondant.I left the paper towel cylinders inside the turrets to keep the shape.Everything is edible except for the flags and cylinders. It took me a while to do this. There's a few things that I would change next time.

This is my first attempt at a castle cake. It took a while to really come up with good ideas... I bypassed paper towel rolls and pringles cans, and ended up with PVC pipes for the towers. All decorations are BC except the silver dragees and rhinestones. Hard to tell in the picture, but the entire thing is liberally dusted with cake sparkles. It looked a lot better in person, it seems the photos never do the cake justice!

Thanks to all of the great examples on this site, I made my first castle cake using fondant for the first time for my 5 year old's birthday party! I used Wilton's packaged fondant, and covered a box, paper towel holders and ice cream cones with fondant. The fondant was so easy and fun to use I made the banners on the cake with fondant too. I used a sharpee to write on the fondant banner. The top tier was a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. TRoyal icing and gumdrops finished off the royal castl

This is a combination of a several different cakes. I used 2- 10" rounds for the base of the large cake, a sheet cake to make the actual purple flower, a 9" petal for the pink flower and the mounds (between the pink & purple flowers) & the mushroom top were made from a small Pyrex bowl. The cupcake made the mushroom base. All the little flowers & leaves were made with marshmallow fondant (my first attempt at fondant, I might add!). I made extra cupcakes (along-side the cake) to use the extra fondant.

The design of this cake reminds me of the board game Candy Land; that's why I call it the Candy Castel! It is iced in butter cream, and the towers are made of ice cream cones. Shadows are painted on with luster dust. I just wanted to make something that I thought would make people smile :-) Thanks for looking!

This is a cake I did for an engagement party. It's chocolate cake with champagned flavored BC, covered in MMF and decorated with royal icing. The towers are toilet paper & wrapping paper tubes wrapped in fondant and the spires are ice cream cones. I got my inspiration from Lindy Smith's FairyTale Castle. Thanks for looking!

Each castle tier has an edible picture of the b'day girl. The top of the castle has a crown. Each cake separator was created by me specifically for this cake with shiny beads. All long the sides are chocolate castle lollipops in pink, blue and purple. The scenery has trees and some unicorns as well. Each cake is a different flavor.
